A LOM-DE XML binding is documented at http://melt.fwu.de/lom-de/lom-de.xsd It is derived from the standard IEEE LOM binding (http://ltsc.ieee.org/xsd/lomv1.0/lom.xsd), using amendments from http://fire.eun.org/xsd/lre/lre.xsd.

Vocabulary descriptions

Vocabularies are hard-coded in the LOM-DE binding.

Alternatively, they can be bound to the loose version of the IEEE binding using the XVD3 conceptual model. For more details see the CEN Workshop Agreement CWA 15453 (ftp://ftp.cenorm.be/PUBLIC/CWAs/e-Europe/WSLT/cwa15453-00-2005-Nov.pdf).

1. Mapping of additional German Educational.context types to LOM-DE

The LRE vocabulary entry „compulsory education“ covers all types of German schools from grade 1 to grade 13 (12) except vocational education. In combination with LOM attribute „Educational.Typicalagerange“ a part of these types can be mapped without loss of information.

Special forms of the German school system like „Hauptschule“ cannot be mapped to LOM-DE.
