Eucharistic Adoration
Prince of Peace is blessed to have Eucharistic Adoration each Thursday in the Chapel from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm.
This is as close as we can come in this life to talking with God face to face. There will be no adoration on
Thursday, November 28 - Thanksgiving Day. In case of bad weather where Adoration would need to end
early, an email will be sent to the Eucharistic Adoration email list. You may also contact the parish office for
information. If you can help or desire to be part of this spiritual ministry, please contact the parish office at
205.822.9125.
The Prince of Peace community would like to extend our sympathy to Mike & Gail Lee and their
family on the death of their son, Brian Lee and to Carmen Austin and her family on the death of her
cousin, Joseph Austin. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Casting Lots for the Seamless Garment (John 19:23-24)
Cultural Diversity in the Church
Throughout the United States, we experience a profound demographic shift as Hispanics, Asians, Africans, Caribbean people, and many other communities of non-European origin are on the rise. Today, as ever, the Church’s mission to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and promote the life and dignity of each and every human being has much to do with insight into cultures. Catholic parishes are moving from mono-cultural patterns to ones we call “shared,” that is, to parishes in which more than one language, racial or cultural group seek to celebrate the Eucharist and embody Christian community. For ministers and pastoral workers to be effective in this diverse environment, the right knowledge, attitudes and skills need to be developed.
The New Evangelization compels us to go and make disciples of all nations. In the United State of America we do not need to go too far to find people “of all nations.” That’s our blessing and our challenge.
For more information on the Seamless Garment Ministry, please contact Tom & Elsbeth Germanson at 205.565.3456.

Stewardship: Parishioners
Answering God’s Call Last year a young couple moved into the area and decided to make Prince of Peace their “home” parish. Due to work obligations, they were unable to return home out of state to be with relatives for Thanksgiving. After hearing about this, a family that shares a pew at Mass with them graciously invited the couple to share Thanksgiving with them. There was a room at the table for all of them! A new friendship was forged and the gift of hospitality will not be forgotten.
Please submit your stewardship story examples to [email protected]. They may be edited for
space consideration.
Save the Date! On Saturday, February 22, 2014, Prince of Peace Catholic School PTO will hold its 14th Annual
