A few weeks ago I mentioned that a committee needs to be formed to look at what the "will of the people" would be as to any changes made to the interior of the Church. This committee would help to advise your new Pastor of improvements that are needed. (Carpeting etc.) I asked for anyone interested to let me know. I'm now asking that anyone interested in serving on this committee to please call the OLL Office with their name and phone number and let our Secretary Rosie know of your interest. -- Fr. MUTUAL INTERESTNotes from Fr. David: Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord...As we celebrate this Solemnity we understand what the Disciples of Jesus must have felt like. He walked among them, taught them, fed them, healed them, and made them whole. Next he was crucified, died and was buried. Then, to many people's surprise...he was raised from the dead and walked with them again. Eventually to return to the Father, but did so promising that he would send them a helper.. the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, which we celebrate next week, who

would help them to remember what he taught, preached, and how he guided us to live. This Spirit is promised to us to keep his word and works alive. We are then challenged to continue his works now and always. This weekend we congratulate all those receiving their First Eucharist. These Lambs of God have worked hard and have waited patiently to take Jesus "in" for the first time. We now welcome them to the table of the Lord! I will be away for about a week to take some time off before "the mad rush" to the end of my term here in Oak Harbor and Genoa. I had planned on taking an extended "real" vacation this year...but a change in plans certainly changed that. Let us continue to pray for each other and your new Pastor. Love, Fr. David
