If you wish to start Danish language course, contact Thisted Kommune.

It is important that you contact the municipality immediately after you have arrived in Thisted, because the Danish language course is only valid during a limited period of time.

If you support yourself economically or you are a citizen of the EU or EØS that financially supports your husband/wife you need to contact:

Sprogcenter Thisted requires a deposit of kr. 1.250 before you begin your course. Each module costs kr. 2.000

If you are a refugee or have been granted a residence permit from Udlændingstyrelsen as a reunified family member, or you are on ” kontanthjælp “ or unemployment benefits, you need to contact:

You can be referred to the following offers:

Danish Education 1 (module 1-6)

Danish Education 2 (module 1-6)

Danish Education 3 (module 1-6) – (Sprogcenter Thisted does not offer module 6)

Each education is divided into 6 modules. Each module is completed with a test, which has to be passed before the start at the next module.

All 3 Danish language educations conclude a state- controlled test in May/June or November/December

Sprogcenter Thisted will meet with you before you begin and evaluate which Danish education program you will be enrolled in.

You decide whether you will enroll in a daytime or evening course.

After your request, Thisted Kommune will investigate if you are entitled to Danish courses and under what conditions.

If the municipality finds that you are entitled to the Danish courses, you will within 4 weeks be contacted by Sprogcenter Thisted. You can start a course at anytime

You can go to course at daytime, in the evening or at distance education.

Thisted Kommune offers free transport from the railway station in Thisted to the language school in Hundborg for the students in the day course. You can also get further information at the language school.
