Lake Mary Preparatory School is proud to offer a fun-filled summer day camp designed for children that are in grades Pre-K3 – 5th. Our day camp has nine weeks of engaging activities, games, guest speakers, and field trips that will captivate your child and all of their interests. Each week will have a different theme that will challenge your child to transform their summer into an awesome experience. In addition, the “week–to–week” camp plan allows you to select which weeks your child will attend camp; or for the ultimate camp experience, they can join us every week!Each group will have a team of qualified staff members that will create a fun and positive learning environment. We maintain a low counselor-to-child ratio to ensure the safety of our children. Our groups will focus on different aspects of sports, art, music and literature through professional educational techniques. Weekly fees include all activities, field trips, a snack, and lunch. Camp shirts are required to be worn on all field trips. Each child will receive one summer camp shirt at registration; additional shirts can be purchase as needed. We look forward to having an awesome summer and invite you to sign up for our camp and discover what Lake Mary Preparatory School has to offer your child.

Your child must be 3 years of age as of June 1, 2019 and fully potty-trained.

Groups are based on students classified as K-5th during the 2018 - 2019 school year.

Registration Fee for Day CampComplimentary registration fee is given to current and new 2019 - 2020 LMP students based on your admissions status.There is a $30 non-refundable registration fee per child for non-LMP students.

Overview: This camp is for all 2019 -2020 Seniors.Students will search and build a customized list of schools, learn how to create a resume, create a collegeapplication organizer, and take part in a mock interview. In addition, students will become familiar with essay topics, complete the common & coalition application, and learn more about Navigate Naviance. Students will leave camp with information about Bright Futures, financial aid, scholarships, and a great platform for their higher education.

Cricut for KidsGrade Level & Dates: June 10 -14 entering 2nd - 5th graders July 15 - 19 entering 6th - 8th graders

Cost: $195 Overview: Designers Unite! Do you have an imagination? Students are fascinated with the "dat machine" as it creates designs out of paper or vinyl material. Students will use their own ideas and learn to create designs using the cricut software to place on t-shirts or as signs. So kids, come have some fun creating tons of awesome projects on the cricut!

Instructor: Dr. Chantal Bodkin-ClarkeBiology BreakoutGrade Level: entering 8th - 12th graders Dates: June 17 - 21 Times: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Cost: $195 Overview: Engage and challenge your inner scientist via fun, exciting, and interactive biology games that follow the Breakout Room game format model. Participants utilize teamwork, out of the box thinking, and problem solving methods to solve “puzzles” on Biology related concepts when given certain clues. Each day of the camp will feature a different breakout activity. The second component to the camp explores the tenets of the scientific process. Participants will be guided to formulate their own hypothesis on a microbiology concept, then they will perform an experiment to test their hypothesis, then finally present their findings in a poster format. ** This class requires a laptop

This camp is perfect to help your child adjust to the transition from 5th to 6th grade. In addition, this camp will help 7th and 8th graders keep on track academically and socially. Literacy Boot CampGrade Level: entering 1st graders Instructor: Ms. Stephanie Peterkin Dates: July 22 - 26 Times: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Cost: $195 Overview: This academic camp strives to keep kids reading and writing over the summer. It supports developing readers, preventing summer learning loss by providing small group literacy (listening, speaking, reading and writing) instruction in a fun atmosphere. Students also participate in enrichment activities that include science, technology, snacks, singing, crafts, and brain breaks. Is your child ready for reading and writing in 1st Grade?

Art on LocationGrade Level: entering 6th - 12th graders Instructor: Ms. Traci ReitzDates: July 22 - 26 Times: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Cost: $250 Overview: Travel around beautiful Central Florida to capture artistic sceneries as you study art in its essence on location. Students will explore different types of artistic styles such as impressionism, pop art and modern art. In addition, they will use various mediums such as photography, acrylics, and sketching to create beautiful masterpieces. This is the perfect camp to prepare all athletes for their upcoming season.

This camp is perfect for boys and girls who love baseball.

Cheer & Hip - Hop DanceGrade level: entering K - 5th graders (co-ed) Instructor:Ms. Jacqui Shaddow Dates: June 10 - 14 Times: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Cost: $195 Overview: This high-energy class includes cheer and dance techniques. In this program, students will learn basic pom technique, sideline and floor cheers, basic cheer stunting, hip-hop, and jazz techniques. Students will enjoy playing dance related games, making crafts, and will learn positive sportsmanship through team building activities. Participants will present their dance and cheer routines in a performance at the end of the week. No experience necessary and all skill levels are welcome.

Lyrical & Contemporary DanceGrade Level: entering 3rd - 8th graders (co-ed) Instructor: Ms. Jacqui Shaddow

Times: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Cost:$195Dates: June 17 - 21 Overview: Dancers explore basic technique and skills for lyrical & contemporary dance. Dance choreography can be abstract, emotional or tell a story. A warm up with stretching and conditioning will be taught. Students will showcase their performance at the end of the week.

Students will work on the fundamentals of shooting, passing, ball-handling, and defense. Learn how to be successful with strokes, court management, and match play. Campers will be introduced to the USTA balls: 8 and under will use red balls, 9-11 year olds will use orange balls, and 12 and older will use green dot balls. This camp is perfect for boys and girls of all skill levels.

Flag FootballGrade Level: entering 3rd - 8th graders (co-ed) Instructor: Mr. Zac Carter Dates:July 22 - 26 Times: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Cost: $195 Overview:  Lake Mary Prep football camp is designed to help players improve their football skills whether you are a beginner or have been playing for years. The camp will focus on developing fundamentals at each of the primary positions. This will be the perfect camp to get you ready for your upcoming season.

Yoga & Mindfulness CampGrade level: entering 6th - 8th graders (co-ed) Instructor: Mrs. Alison Alcobia Dates: July 29 - August 2 Times: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Cost:$195 Overview: This camp will give middle school students some strategies that they can use throughout the year to stay healthy and happy. Each day will start with breathing exercises that helps us get focused. The students will be taught how and when to use these exercises during their school day. We will practice yoga poses. These poses help us to develop strength, flexibility, and balance. They also help us to understand how our bodies work and to love our bodies. We will make crafts and have activities to practice mindfulness.

Overview: iBrick Academy is a family of teachers with over 60 years of combined education experience and has been in business for over 20 years. We provide LEGO Camps across Central Florida, which includes our LEGO© ROBOTICS CAMP. Our LEGO© ROBOTICS CAMPS feature the LEGO © Mindstorms EV3 Sets which includes the EV3 Intelligent Brick, which is a programmable computer that controls Servo motors and collects sensor feedback using icon-based programming. Sensors included Gyro, Ultrasonic, Color and Touch.

This Camp allows campers to get deeper into the builds and skill building activities. The Bricks include 541 elements that can be used for teaching science, technology, engineering, math, and computer science. The curriculum used for all of our camps comes from LEGO © Education and is carefully planned by our founder (a former LEGO© Education Teacher Trainer) drawing from 20+ years of robotics teaching, training and curriculum development for schools and various departments of education across the US. It includes 48 tutorials to help you and your students learn the basics of LEGO © MINDSTORMS EV3.

Our camps have breaks with activities and snacks (lunch breaks for full day camps). We do not provide lunch; please make sure your child has lunch each and every day. Please note, we do not have breaks, activities or build time outside due to the inclement nature of our weather here in Florida. Breaks (snack, lunch or activity) happen at the top of each hour. All of our Camps have limited seating and they do tend to fill up fast.

Overview: Use your robotics knowledge to become a master programmer! We'll be using Dot and Dash robots, along with Ozobots, to learn about robotics and coding. We'll put our robots to the test by programming them to perform all sorts of tasks! We'll make our robots dance, avoid obstacles, follow lines, respond to our voice, and even talk! This camp is adaptable to all levels, so beginners and experts can all have a blast! Part of the camp day will also be dedicated to building a robot that the kids will get to take home at the end of the week!

Discover ancient civilizations and the tools and artifacts they used in everyday life! Study bone fragments, pottery shards, amber deposits, and fossils; understand what they can tell us about history! Make and take-home projects each day, like a fossil reproduction, an amber time capsule, and coins from around the world!

Our week-long program will introduce your child to the fashion industry and teach them basic design and sewing skills. Your little explorers will enjoy hands-on projects to learn about fabric and itʼs origin and how geography plays a major role in the fashion industry. They will learn the parts of a sewing machine, all of the necessary sewing terminology & equipment, hand sewing techniques, how to sew on buttons and how to decode the symbols on their shirtsʼ care tag. They will become little tailors by learning how to take measurements, create, and read a basic pattern. Likewise, they will become little designers by exploring color theory to design their own four-piece collection. They will show off their math skills when they learn how to buy fabric and buttons to make dress shirts. We will hone in on your childʼs creativity and by the end of the week, they will create a project to show off their new-found love for fashion and design! All supplies and workbook will be provided. We will not have lunch during this camp, however please pack your child a snack and a water bottle.

• Enrollment for the Partnership Specialty Camps, are done directly with the vendor. Please see the partner

Payment• All payments must be received a week prior to the start of the summer camp program that your child is

register for. Late or non-payments will result in your child’s registration and spot being removed from the

program.

• Acceptable payments: cash, personal check, cashier’s check, money order, and all major credit/debit cards.

There will be a 3% credit card processing fee for all card transactions. Please note: there is a $45 fee for all

return personal checks.
