The absence of a machine-room isnot the only factor that speeds upthe installation process of KONEMonoSpace elevators. Many otheraspects of the KONE MonoSpaceplatform contribute to more efficient and safer installationmethods.

The modular design of the technologically advanced KONEMonoSpace provides smooth, efficient installation. The installation process was an integral part of the KONEMonoSpace development, toenable shorter construction timesto be achieved.

Installation efficiency is ensured bya unique scaffold-free installationsystem that offers an unrivalleddegree of time-saving, safety andflexibility and importantly avoidingcranage in most cases. It also minimises disruption to othertrades, as most of the work is performed inside the well. State-of-the-art tools are used for measurement, which ensure installation accuracy.

The entire process has been designedto take the elevator out of the projects critical path, saving bothtime and constructions costs.

Efficient project management is aKONE commitment. A ProjectSupervisor will handle the co-ordination of the entire installationprocess from beginning to end,ensuring completion on time andwithin budget.

In the ten years since it was introduced, the space-saving KONE MonoSpacehas proven itself to be a highly reliable solution in countless thousands of units in operationaround the world and today it continues to be the worlds leading machine-room-less elevator.

The KONE MonoSpace range providesone of the most environmentally soundelevator concepts in the industry, incorporating KONEs commitment forfuture re-use and recycling of as manyproducts and components as possible.

The energy-efficient KONE EcoDisc drive ofMonoSpace consumes approximately half theenergy of conventional machines. Significantcost savings are also achieved through the useof low duty mains power supply cable.

EcoDiscs absence of oil removes the risk of soilcontamination and fire that are potential threatsin hydraulic systems.

In order to promote sustainability, Life CycleManagement (LCM) is incorporated into thedesign of MonoSpace elevators. LCM is anevaluation of the environmental impact of theproduct throughout its life. The result is a moreefficient design and use of materials, transport,manufacture and safe disposal as well asavoiding other polluting factors whereverpossible.

The key button for a PIN codeenables access to special controloptions (e.g. to give priority to VIPcalls, temporary goods transportationetc.) and to control the operation ofthe optional fan.

As a security function, an interface forbadge readers can be provided toensure that tenantshave access only totheir floors.

For security reasons the control system can be set to stop on themain floor (where security personnelare located). Security settings can alsobe changed via the E-Link remote monitoring feature.

KONE Visual Shaft Kit

Glass has become an increasinglyimportant component in the facades ofmodern buildings. When combinedwith glass elevator shafts, architectscan provide passengers with a newkind of scenic elevator experience.

One drawback of glass shafts, however,is that the elevator cars exterior, theappearance of which is not always veryappealing, is on full display.

KONE Visual Shaft Kit is a modularsolution consisting of cladding andspecially painted components thathave been developed to enhance theappearance of cars that run in glassshafts.

Whether you have a complete glassshaft or just one glass wall, you canchoose the elements of the pack thatmaximize the appearance and value ofyour building.
