Samarbeid universitet – helseforetak

Samarbeidet om forskning og utdanning i klinisk medisin er av de store gledene ved K1. Institusjonene i regionen har felles mål og engasjement om å få til dette. Utfordringen for oss er å lede an i et mest mu-lig effektivt samspill med alle gode krefter.

Forskning og utdanning er universitetets sentrale oppgaver, og heldigvis samtidig hovedoppgaver for alle helseforetakene. De fleste ansatte ved K1 har også ansettelse ved et helseforetak. Arealmessig er det vanskelig å se skillet mellom universitet og helseforetak innenfor klinisk medisin. Nesten alle vitenskapeli-ge publikasjoner som utgår fra K1, har et eller flere helseforetak som adresse i tillegg. Alle dem vi utdan-ner, har lært av helseforetakenes pasienter og ansatte.

Resultatene K1 oppnår i forskning og utdanning avhenger i stor grad av hvor godt samarbeidet mellom universitet og helseforetak fungerer. De seksjonene hos oss som har flest vitenskapelige publikasjoner, flest veiledete særoppgaver og best studentevalueringer, er de som trekker inn hele sykehusavdelingen i universitetsarbeidet. De ser dette som viktige oppgaver som skal løses i felleskap, snarere enn en oppga-ve bestemt ut fra ansettelsesforhold og formelle arbeidsbetingelser. På overordnet nivå er det et meget godt samarbeid mellom universitetet og alle sykehusene i regionen, med regelmessige samarbeidsmøter. Hvordan samarbeidet manifesterer seg i praksis, varierer imidlertid betydelig. Daglige rutiner på senge-poster og operasjonsstuer, i laboratorier og poliklinikker tar i svært ulik grad hensyn til studenter og forsk-ning. Rekruttering, arbeidsordninger, fordypningstid, søknader om eksterne midler, prosjektplaner, forsk-ningsgrupper, studieplaner, spesialistutdanning, veiledning, kombinerte stillinger er nøkkelspørsmål for den enkelte og på alle organisatoriske nivåer både innenfor klinisk medisin universitet og klinisk medisin sykehus. Noen har opprettet effektive samarbeidsutvalg på avdelingen for forskning og utdanning. Kraft, fleksibilitet og vilje til gode resultater avgjøres lokalt.

Vi ved K1 vil bidra så godt vi bare kan i et effektivt samarbeid mellom universitet og helseforetak. K1s ledelse og administrasjon stiller opp med stor glede og varmt engasjement der dere ønsker. Men det er avdeling, seksjon og lokale fagenheter som i all hovedsak bestemmer hvor bra samarbeidet blir og hvilke faglige resultater som oppnås.

Kvalitetsprisen til arbeid innanfor psykisk helse og kreft Kvalitetsprisen 2016 gjekk i år til Miriam Hartveit ved Valen sjukehus i Helse Fonna, og Christian Beis-land og nyrekreftmiljøet i og rundt avdeling for urologi ved Haukeland universitetssjukehus i Helse Ber-gen. Miriam Hartveit fekk prisen for sitt årelange arbeid med å betre samhandlinga mellom primær- og spesia-listhelsetenesta innanfor psykisk helsevern. Ho deler prisen med førsteamanuensis Christian Beisland og

nyrekreftmiljøet i og rundt avdeling for urologi ved Haukeland universi-tetssjukehus i Helse Bergen, for arbeidet med å innføre eit kontrollpro-gram som deler pasientar som er kurativt behandla for nyrekreft inn i tre risikogrupper og definerer oppfølgingstiltak for desse. Modellen har vist seg å skilje godt mellom risikogruppene og program-met ser ut til å fange opp fleire av dei pasientane som får tilbakefall på eit tidligare stadium enn før. Resultata som er oppnådde, er dokumen-terte i fleire publiserte artiklar. Les meir på helse-vest.no.

Gjev pris til ung nevrolog under European Academy of Neurology (EAN) konferansen i København

Marte Helene Bjørk vant en pris under ”the EAN Tournament”, en forskningskonkurranse for unge nev-rologer med over 6000 deltakere.

Marte Helene Bjørk er neurolog og postdoktor ved K1, hvor hun forsker på Epilepsi ved Bergen Epilepsy Research Group (BERG). Under EAN konferansen i København i mai holdt hun et inn-legg om epilepsi og graviditet. Bruk av antiepileptisk medisin under graviditeten kan føre til at barnet utvikler autisme. Bjørk sin studie viser at inntak av folsyre kan hindre denne alvorlige bivirkningen. Les mer om studien her. Vi gratulerer!

UiB vil fortsatt ha valgt rektor

Universitetsstyret har vedtatt at ordningen med valgt rektor ved Universitetet i Bergen skal fortsette.

I universitetsstyremøtet 2. juni 2016 ble modell for styring og ledelse ved Universitetet i Bergen (UiB) diskutert. Bakgrunnen for saken er regje-ringens forslag om en ny hovedmodell i universitets- og høyskolesektoren, der institusjonene har ekstern styreleder og ansatt rektor. Styret skulle ta stilling om man skulle videreføre ordningen med valgt rektor ved UiB. ningen blir best mulig. Artikkelen er publisert i LVS-info, bladet for Leger i Vitenskapelige stillinger. Kort oppsum-

mert synes studenter generelt sett at stoffet er for vanskelig og ønsker repetisjon, helst i begynnelsen av hver time,

i tillegg til fremheving av de viktigste poengene. De kommer også med en oppfordring: «Hjelp oss å navigere frem

til essensen i det temaet du underviser! Hjelp oss å forstå! Forklar det på en måte du ville forstått den gangen du

var helt ny!»

HHMI and Bill and Melinda Gates Grant for Worldwide Scientific Talent on Trialect The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Wellcome Trust, and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation announce the International Research Scholars Program which aims to support up to 50 outstanding early career scientists/physicians worldwide. The program's aim is to help develop scientific ta-lent worldwide. Awardees will receive a total of $650,000 over five years, and they can do research in their own countries. Norwegian centre for international cooperation in education (SIU)

#ORG2022 er i gang

#ORG2022 har startet opp de første tiltakene for fornying og forenkling. Styringsgruppen for #ORG2022 møttes 31. mai og behandlet da første utkast til i styringsdokument og prosjektpla-nen. Styringsgruppen ga klarsignal til oppstart av de første tiltakene. Styringsdokumentet for prosjektet inneholder styringsmål, hvordan resultatene skal kunne måles, risikoanalyse, milepælsplan og beskrivelse av prosjektets organisering. Disse styringsmålene ble foreslått: iverksette tiltak som kan gi tidsmessige besparelser i vitenskapelige og

teknisk-administrative stillinger bidra til mer og bedre samarbeid på tvers av enheter og nivå ha tiltak som gir effekt både i form av reduserte lønnsutgifter og re-

Vokalensemblet Skrik konsert

Lørdag 11. juni fremfører Vokalensemblet Skrik rytmiske toner og lystige låter fra populærmusikkens verden, kl. 18.30 i St. Jakob kirke i Bergen.

Vokalensemblet Skrik er 12 sangere som synger a capella under ledelse av ny dirigent Christian Holter. Ensemblet har gitt ut to plater, som blant annet er å finne på iTunes, Spotify og Tidal.

Det vil bli fremført sanger fra vokal- og popgrupper som bruker flerstemthet aktivt. Du vil få høre sanger opprinne-lig fremført av blant annet The Real Group, Coldplay og The Beatles.

På programmet er tre av låtene arrangert spesielt for Vokalensemblet Skrik, hvorav to av dem av ensemblets diri-gent Christian Holter..
