Daily English Activities:
- Practise saying the days of the week and months of the year in order. What day is it today? What was the day yesterday, what will the day be tomorrow? What month are we in?
- Read every day
- Practice reading and writing your sight words every day. You can also make them out of playdough, or use chalk.

focusing on the sounds
that ‘th’ makes. It can
make a soft sound like in
the word ‘thumb’ or a
hard sound like in the
word ‘them’. Complete
the worksheet attached.

as many things you
already know about sheep! Think about what
they look like, where they live, what they eat, things
we might use from them?
Choose a book from
home and read it to

Parent Information - New
topic: words used in
kindergarten to describe
fractions whole, part,
equal parts, half, halves.
Take a whole piece of
paper (A4) and fold it equally in half. Now cut
the paper on the fold. You
should have two ‘equal’ halves. Try this activity
using different sized
papers. You can even use paper circles, squares,
rectangles or strips of
paper. Make sure that the paper is folded equally in
half before you cut.
Check that you have two equal halves.
Count collections
Walk around your house and collect some objects.
For example, blocks, toys,
coloured pencils, books, socks or shoes.
Make two groups and count how many are in
each group. Which one
has the most?
Draw a picture of
your collections and write the group
number underneath.
Close your eyes, mix them

a slice of bread that they can cut in half to show

parts of one whole. You could also use a
ribbon or piece of string or
even a tissue to cut into two equal halves.

Afternoon STEM
Build your own chicken
nest!
Mother hen needs your help to lay her eggs. Baby
chickens need to be kept
nice and warm while they are waiting to hatch. Can
you have a go at creating
a nice, warm nest? Get creative, you can use
things from outside or
inside your home. The picture below shows what
a real nest looks like.
Creative Arts
Can you make a sheep
using a paper, plate and
cotton balls? Alternatively you can get creative and
use other materials you
might have around the house like rolling white
paper into little balls or
even finger painting.
