Official Newsletter of LaMissTenn District/Division 7B
Greetings from Your Lt. Governor
Hello Key Clubbers of Division 7B,
My name is Philip Roth, and I am your
newly elected Lt. Governor of Division
7B. I am extremely honored to be
serving you as your Lt. Governor. Let
me tell you a little bit about myself. I
am going to be a junior next year at
E.D. White Catholic High School. I
have been a member of Key Club since
the eighth grade, and I have worked
many projects at my school’s Key Club
like bingo, concessions, and many
other projects. I love Key Club
because it is a great way to have fun
with friends while helping out your
community.
I want to make our division stronger
this year so here are a couple of
ways to do this:
• Contact Information: I
need all schools to send me
their email, address, and
phone/cell for the faulty
advisor, president, and
corresponding sectary.
• Newsletters: They are
extremely important for
knowing what’s going on in
our division.
• PCM’s: They are very

ways to live your life.
One is as though
nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though
everything is a
miracle.”

KEY CLUB LaMissTenn Division 7B newsletter
This year, the LaMissTenn District
will be continuing last year’s
district Project A.E.D. For those
who don’t know, A.E.D. stands
for “Automated External
Defibrillator.” This portable
device is used to save the lives
of persons suffering cardiac
arrest or heart arrhythmias that
may lead to cardiac arrest. The
goal of this project is to get at
least one A.E.D. in every school
in the district. A.E.D.s are
expensive; each A.E.D. can
cost around one thousand
dollars! This project was a big
undertaking for the LaMissTenn
District last year, and it is hoped
that the project can be fulfilled
by continuing it into this next
year. Individual clubs can help
with this district project by
fundraising to place A.E.D.s in
their own school or in other
schools in the district. Clubs
without A.E.D.s in their own
school should first focus on
getting one placed in their
school. There are lots of fun
ways to fundraise! Maybe your
club can host a car wash or
hold a bake sale at school.
Start planning over the summer
or even begin the fundraising
process!
The Youth Opportunities Fund
(YOF) is an endowed fund for
Key Club International held
within the Kiwanis International
Foundation. This fund, utilizing
the interest earned, helps Key
Clubs and Key Club members
serve the world through grants
for service opportunities.
The YOF funds are granted only
to Key Clubs and/or club
members. The application is
included in the Key Club
Guidebook. There is only one
funding cycle for the YOF. The
application must be received
by October 15. The application
must be submitted to the Youth
Funds Specialist at Kiwanis
International, 3636 Woodview
Trace, Indianapolis, IN 46268; or
via fax at 317-471-8323. Clubs
may request funding assistance
from US$200 to US$2,000.
To ensure that your club wins
the grant here are a couple of
ways to do this:
~The committee judging your
application does not live in your
community, so the better you
clarify the project, the better
the committee can understand
the project
~Write legibly, or enter the
application on a computer
utilizing the application format
in the Guidebook.
~Follow the directions. The only
attachment can be the
budget.
~The timeline should be
accurate and well-prepared.

Contact Information It is very important that I have all contact information from each of the clubs
in my division. I still need contact information from the following schools: Central Catholic,
Berwick, and H.L. Bourgeois. I need each club to send me their name, position, street address,
email, and phone number and/or cell phone number for the faulty advisor, president, vice
president, secretary, treasurer, and any other member on the board. This helps me send each
club monthly newsletter, reminders when to me send monthly reports, and any other district
news. Email is the best way to send me the information, but you can also mail me the
information, and my street address is found on page four.
