Official Newsletter . June 2012 . Volume 3, Issue 6 We’re proud to announce the debut of our new video series “Inside The Shops at Wailea.” The series has been developed to showcase our center’s unique merchants, restaurants and The Shops at Wailea ex- perience, including our weekly “Wailea on Wednesday” arts and entertainment event. Episode one, which will be live at YouTube.com/TheShopsAtWailea June 4, features Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar, Martin & MacArthur and The Art of Peter Max Gallery, with an introduction from KHON2’s Gina Mangieri. The entire series will be archived on The Shops at Wailea’s YouTube page. Additionally, each new episode is featured on the Hawai‘i pages of WhereTraveler.com, and air on the in-room visitor information channels in more than 8,000 O‘ahu hotel rooms, including all Outrigger Hotel & Resorts properties. The series is part of an initiative to develop video content to populate our YouTube page (YouTube is the third most visited website in the world), as well as give us a new tool to reach our visitor market pre-arrival, and compliment our ongoing new media marketing efforts. Episode two will be out in the fall. Subscribe to our YouTube channel to be the first to know when it’s live. We’ll also keep you posted via this newsletter. Yes, that was a souped-up tricycle that rolled past your storefront last month.

We recently invited a team from Google Maps to shoot images of the center for inclusions in its popular “Street View” feature, which allows visitors to the website to explore places around the world through 360-degree street-level imagery.

The mapping was done both around the center via a vehicle-mounted camera and throughout the center with a custom-designed tricycle housing Google’s special pho-tography and mapping equipment. Don’t rush to your computer quite yet. We’ve been told by the folks at Google that due to the amount of data recorded it will take “some time” before the images are live, but when they eventually are, there will be a little extra aloha from The Shops at Wailea. LETTER FROM THE G.M.

A big mahalo for your cooperation and patience while we went through the parking lot sealing project. No doubt it spawned more than a few euphemisms as employees and guests worked to navigate the barricades, which changed daily, or sometimes hourly.

I doubt you’re interested in emulsions, longitudinal cracking or alligated asphalt, but you might appreciate knowing that the resealing project will add years to the life of the park-ing lot. Additionally, part of the project involved removal of years of oil stains caused by parked vehicles, which is a plus for the environment.

Oh yeah, and the new parking lot stripes puts a little snap in the center, too!

Much aloha,

Robert “Bob” DyeGeneral Manager, CBRE

MICHAEL ROSE of LONGHI’S

His early years in the Aloha State were spent in commercial fishing, and he later founded and operated Rodeo General Store in Makawao for twenty years. MAUI COFFEE FESTIVAL

We’ve been working with the Maui Coffee Association to develop a signa-ture annual coffee event at the center and can now announce that the

first-annual “Maui Coffee Festival at

The Shops at Wailea” will take place

Saturday, August 4 from 10am to 4pm.

While we’re still working on the details, the event will draw attendees to the center to interact with our island’s coffee growers, learn about what make’s Maui coffee unique, and, of course, sample an array of offerings (AKA cup-ping).

More details to come.
