We’re always looking for new channels to promote our center. You might have noticed a camera crew shooting around the property in March. The Shops at Wailea is developing a yet-to-be-titled short video series in partnership with Morris Visitor Publications to promote The Shops at Wailea experience.

Each five-minute episode will highlight the unique character of the center. A new episode will be released quarterly for the rest of 2012. Businesses featured in the first two episodes include Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, The Art of Peter Max Gallery, Eclectic Image Gallery, Martin & MacArthur and Elephant Walk.

The content will be archived and have a perma-nent home on The Shops at Wailea’s branded YouTube page (YouTube.com/TheShopsAtWailea) and each new episode will play on the Hawai‘i pages of WhereTraveler.com. Additionally, each episode will play on the in-room visitor information channels in more than 8,000 O’ahu hotel rooms, including all Outrigger Hotel & Resorts properties.

The premier episode will debut in a few weeks. We’ll keep you posted.

In the interim, if you’re interested in having your business considered for a feature in an upcoming episode, send a request to our marketing represen-tative, Todd Vines ([email protected]) with Gilbert & Associates.

LETTER FROM THE G.M.

This month, I wanted to share an excerpt from a letter we recently received. The content speaks for itself. Aloha lives at The Shops at Wailea.

Robert “Bob” DyeGeneral Manager, CBRE

A big mahalo for helping me on Sunday. It’s not every day a guy from Lahaina drives all the way to Wailea to buy a pair of Tommy Bahama shoes. After Tommy Bahama we took mom for an ice cream. I took a photo of her and left my shoes at the fountain. We were on our way home and I noticed the lack of a Tommy Bahama bag in the car, not a good feeling. When I called security Carlton was kind enough to take my number and then try to find my shoes. He called within a few moments letting me know they were gone, but would call me if anyone turned them in.

A few hours later the phone rang with great news; my shoes had been turned in! Mahalo for your Aloha and honesty. It was a blessing to drive to Wailea to buy my shoes because I not only have a great pair of shoes, I have been shown Aloha.

Mahalo,Tony Menze

Les says, “I would like to share this honor with my team. Without all the employees at Lappert’s Hawaii, this would not have been possible. They make me look good.”
