JULY Continued AUGUST Park Life 2017 Dynamic Brass Band Sun 23 July This local brass band was launched in April 2013 by Harold Whan and Patricia Evans. Their repertoire includes a selection of marches, hymns, classical and modern brass band music. Drumlough Pipe Band Sun 30 July Enjoy the spectacle and sound of Drumlough Pipe Band including marches, slow airs, up-tempo jigs and reels. Dynamic Brass Band Sun 6 August Dynamic Brass is ‘A band to bring together people of all ages to establish, develop, educate, maintain and promote the concept of Brass Band Music for the benefit of the local community and beyond.’ 1st Old Boys Youth Band Sun 13 August The 1st Old Boys Youth Band consists of 35 young people following the tradition of the first Old Boys Association Silver Band which was formed in Belfast in 1946. The band performs a wide range of musical genre. The Northern Ireland Concert Band Sun 20 August The Northern Ireland Concert Band was originally set up as The Band of The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Services in 2005, under the direction of Mr Warnock Patterson. This cross-community band has members from across Northern Ireland. Heroes and Princesses Sat 1 July The whole team will be out in full force in Wallace Park including: The Turtles, Spiderman, Batman, Ironman, Captain America, Queen Elsa and Princess Anna. They will be hosting an amazing Hero Academy and thrilling the crowds with performances from Queen Elsa and Princess Anna!

Fur and Flora Sat 8 July Plant a � ower in the � owerbed around the Bandstand and you can take a plant home. After you feed the ducks, you can make a � ower or butter� y at the craft workshops and get your face painted too! Visit the petting farm, and watch a spectacular display by the ‘Flying Falcons’. If you enter the Dog Agility Demonstration or Fun Dog Show, you will receive free poo bags.

Fairytale Ball Sat 15 July Come enter the enchanting world of Mr Hullabaloo the storyteller and his colourful puppet friends for a magical ‘Fairytale Ball’ unlike any other. With spectacular sets, costumes, puppetry, music, movement and lots of audience participation. A story shared with us is guaranteed to create magical memories for many years to come. So come along, join the fun and let your story begin!

Sports Festival Sat 22 July Activities include Kiddies Sports themed disco (music and games),Boot Camp Challenge Assault Course with dual climbing walls and dual slide, Touch Down bungee game, in� atable mini golf challenge and BMX demonstration and Jump Jiggle and Jive.

Jack and the Beanstalk Sat 29 July Join Mr Hullabaloo for an amazing fantasy adventure that brings the classic story of Jack and the Beanstalk to life! Featuring an outstanding cast of live performers, puppetry, dazzling sets and lavish costumes, children of all ages can join in the excitement as our spectacular pantomime story unfolds. After the show there will also be an opportunity to meet and greet the cast of colourful characters who will be only to happy to pose for pictures. Come meetMr Hullabaloo, Jingles the Jester and all of their storybook friends when our ‘GIANT’ of a tale Jack and the Beanstalk comes to your local park this summer!

Mini Mela Sat 5 AugustA celebration of world cultures through music, visual arts and dance. The Park will be � lled with the colours and sounds of faraway places featuring live music and dance performers in authentic colourful costumes. Make yourself a global craft from India, China, Poland or Colombia and sample the taste of exotic foods.

Teddy Bears Picnic Sat 12 AugustCome along with your favourite teddy and join in the story told by Mr Hullabaloo and his famous puppets ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. Bring a picnic, but be careful of a greedy bear stealing your snacks. Dance with your favourite character at the kiddies disco. There will be bouncy castles, teddy bear slide and an opportunity to make your own teddy bear ears and have your face painted too.

Circus-Circus Sat 19 AugustRoll up roll up! Come and join us for a spectacular circus extravaganza! With lots of fun and entertainment for all the family! Circus skills workshops, shows and plenty of acts to meet and greet.

Lisburn Young Defenders Sun 2 JulyLisburn Young Defenders have followed their Irish Melody Flute championship wins of 2000, 2001 and 2003 by becoming Northern Ireland Flute Band Association Melody Plus winners in 2017. A stand-out performance at the 2015 Belfast Tattoo saw Lisburn Young Defenders being presented to a worldwide audience and recognised at the highest level of musical ability and entertainment.

Drumlough Pipe Band Sun 9 JulyDrumlough Pipe Band is from the townland of Drumlough and had its � rst public appearance in 1951.

Garvey Silver Band Sun 16 JulyGarvey Silver Band plays an extensive modern repertoire of light and popular music (both classical and original brass) as well as � lm themes, marches and hymn tunes with something for all tastes.
