Despite all the snow and end of term illnesses we were able to
enjoy our Christmas play from CRIBs,
end of term parties, Infant concertsand the bowling treat for our raffle
ticket winners which was a great
success. We finished the term with
our usual Candlelit Carols with a
theme looking at the history of Saint
Nicholas, Santa Claus, Kris Kringle
and Father Christmas.
Welcome back and best wishes forhappy and successful 2011!

SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL ASPECTS OF LEARNING (SEAL)P ROGRAMME FOR THIS TERM
Brampton BulletinPage 2
Miss Wilson has a devised a programme for the year to cover all the required aspects of
PSCHE/SEAL programmes of work. These themes will be covered by work in class and
assemblies, all staff will also be looking for excellent examples from the children to
acknowledge and reward with raffle tickets. We thought you might like to have a copy of
this term’s programme so you can discuss the children’s work and efforts at home.
4.1.11-4.2.11 — Going for Goals.
4.1.11— Setting Goals
10.1.11– Take responsibility for success as well as when things go wrong.
17.1.11– Persistence (keep going)
24.1.11—Resilience (bouncing back or maintaining effort)31.1.11– Achieving goals
7.2.11– Other areas to cover include health and safety, emergency procedures, where to go
for help, democracy, role of voluntary, community and pressure groups, media, legal and
illegal substances and how to improve their local, natural and built environments.
28.2.11– 8.4.11- Good to be me
28.2.11– Doing something to be proud of
7.3.11– Responding in an assertive way
14.3.11—Helping someone with a worry21.3.11-Stopping and thinking when they are angry
28.3.11– To care about other people’s feelings
4.4.11– Recognise positive qualities in themselves and others
As you can see these topics fit in well with our school aims and we hope will also contribute
to high standards in behaviour and community cohesion. Our SEAL programme also includes
ideas for parents to try at home and these will be included in future newsletters.
PhotosLast term some of our newsletters did not contain
photos with children in, this was because we needed
to conform with E-Safety requirements to update our
register of children with permission to use their
photographs. This is now complete and hopefully we
will now be able to show children at work in our
newsletters.

Attendance
Unfortunately after a promising start to the year our school attendance rate is currently
running at 95.4% slightly below our school target of 96.1%.
RB = 94.7% RJ = 92.5% 1B = 93.7% 1BA= 95.7% 2H = 96.8%
2EW= 95.6% 3W= 93.6% 3WH= 94.5% 4P= 95.7% 4C= 96.0%
5S= 96.0% 5M = 96.5% 6B= 96.3% 6C = 97.6%
So well done to 6C, 2H, 5M and 6B who are all above 96.1%!
4C and 5S are nearly there too. Let’s see how well we can do this term.

Demelza House
Instead of sending cards to each other again this year staff signed a huge communal cardand made a donation to the Demelza House charity. We raised £42.05.
Many thanks to everyone for their generosity.

We are pleased to announce the birth of a daughter for Mrs Jones on December 27th.
Carys Erin Jones weighed in at just over 6lbs and mother and baby are doing fine. Dad and
brother Alexander are thrilled with the new arrival too. In fact she popped into school on
Wednesday but without Carys!

And finally.......Emergency Contact Details
It is important that we have up to date home and mobile
contact details for parents and emergency carers. We
have already had one incident this week where the home
number we have is no longer available. Difficulties in
being able to reach a parent can add further distress to
a child who is sick. So if you have changed phone
numbers recently please let the school office know as
soon as possible so we can keep accurate records.
Remember if you like what we’re doing —tell
us and others!
If you don’t, please help us improve!

enough space to mention the
children’s achievements here
but if you are interested to see
your child’s mention the book is
usually kept in the office—so
please pop in and ask to see it.
BRAMPTON GOLD BOOK
Striving to Reach the Best
Every week we print the names of those children who have
achieved in either their work, conduct or behaviour around
school and have been entered in the Gold Book. They have
been mentioned in Monday’s celebratory assembly. After 3

silver, 9 mentions for a gold, 12 mentions for a Super Gold and
15 mentions for a Platinum certificate, 18 for Diamond, 21+

Keep Healthy
To help prevent the
spread of cold germschildren have been
reminded to -
Catch it, bin it and kill it
and then to wash hands carefully.
Raffle Prize Winners
After evaluating our first term of raffle ticket
rewards it has been decided to make it fairer by
having a separate draw for Infants and Juniors.
So as we need to split last weeks raffle tickets into
the appropriate boxes there was no raffle draw
this week but next week 4 names will be drawn.
