An expression of heightened creativity arises from unheard voices that in the past were dismissed as unimportant, sadly misunderstood, cast away. Art created intuitively with unstoppable passion. These artists are nonconventional in their approach, creating art that is pure in its expression, color, and form. Brian Dowdall’s colorful primal paintings convey his deep connection with nature and its animals. Konstantin Bokov, a Russian immigrant, finds discarded materials and humorously recycles it by giving it back with a new meaning. With a smile he transforms common objects into art. Pamala Rogers uses vibrant colors with geometric forms and symbolism in her paintings and sculptures giving us a sense of a spiritual connection. Angela Rogers fills in the picture with her terrestrial people frolicking about. Candyce Brokaw spills her insides out onto the page in an endless flow of visual incantation. Istvan “Monty Cantsin” Kantor, art criminal and self-proclaimed Neoist banned from most museums, expresses his objections to the art society in his newest work Blitzkunst. Adjani Okpu-Egbe is one of the most captivating Afro-Expressionist painters of our time. The works offer an insight into Adjani’s unusual life and practice. These intensely personal, autobiographical paintings display an undeniable rawness of subject, emotion and media. Johan Wahlstrom’s graphic neoexpressionist narratives handle the universality of emotions, the shared feelings of us all. Kevin Wendall, the artist known as FA-Q, releases his anger and disappointment in society through his process of creating his art. Addiction and inner demons narrate a sinister expression of emotion. Ross Brodar’s bold and brash art speaks to the turmoil the human spirit feels during periods of uncertainty without fear or apologies. This group of artists share a common intuitiveness exuded in the paint strokes, materials and subject matter. This leads us to a better understanding of their inner being and creativeness. In & Out
