We all know that III's founder fathers had the vision of bringing insurance practitioners, theoreticians and academicians across the country closer so that knowledge and practices could be shared, discussed, debated and researched upon. III's stated objectives can be summarized as building professionalism in the insurance industry. III has been consistently working on this agenda in different ways. Curriculums of III's courses have been revised and examination and evaluation systems have been modernized. E-learning facilities and on-line examination have been launched. III has strengthened its ties with academic bodies abroad to provide better acceptance for its members. III's Library has grown bigger with more books andmagazines. The III Journal has become theme- based and more learning oriented. College of Insurance is now conducting many customizedprograms for different user groups including private and public sector insurers, reinsurers, brokers, surveyors, third party administrators and sales and marketing personnel. Seminars are also conducted on matters ofinterest to the insurance industry. III has been in a process of strengthening its Associated Institutes so that they can perform more meaningfully in their localities and provide better service to its members. Many Institutes have been consistently conducting seminars and academic sessions for both seniors and budding professionals. To makeAssociate and Fellow Members professionally active and their efforts visible to employers and fellow professionals, III has recently designed a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programme. We are happy that ourAssociated Institutes and more than 40,000 members whose email contacts are available with us are promptly notified of all these activities as well as matters that aflect the industry through III's weekly \Iewsletters' and III's 'Happenings' circulated every month. There are quite a few Members who are in touch with III through emails and'Facebook'as well. Though these results are definitely positive, we feel that we should be able to re-connect with every single III Member, speak to them and get their ideas heard. Through this special drive, .'III Reconn ect20lT' we hope to communicatewith everyIII Memberin India or abroad.
