Friday, March 8: Snuggle up and Read at Evamere- Sponsored by PTO. Flyer went home. March 25- 29 - Spring Break – No school! Spotlight on… Hudson Random Acts of Kindness week! This week Hudson League for Service encourages the following “acts of kindness!” Encourage your kids to take part! :) Monday- February 18- Hey Neighbor Share a book, do an errand, or give flowers to a neighbor! Tuesday, February 19 -Thankful Tuesday- Write a thank you note to show your appreciation to someone. Wednesday, February 20- Explore Kindness- Make 10 people smile- compliments and smiles goa long way! :) Thursday, February 21- Tasty Thursday- Give to a food pantry or pick up a strangers restaurant tab. Friday, February 22- Be a Friend- Spend some time with someone who may be lonely. Share your #RAKHudson stories and watch kindness grow! Writing: We will begin a new unit on persuasive and opinion writing. We will be using our words like “magic wands” to think of ways to solve a problem and make a change. We will learn to include reasons to make our writing more convincing. Science/Social Studies: What is the role of a president? We will learn more about some of the past presidents lives! Reminders! *Please send a NUT-FREE snack with your child daily! NOTE: Snacks that are processed in the same facility as nuts are not permitted. * If your child has a transportation change, please send in a note to me in the GREEN folder and also another note for the bus driver. * PLEASE BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR CHILD DRESS FOR THE COLD WEATHER FOR RECESS! * Remember to check/send the GREEN take-home folder daily.

This week Hudson League for Service encourages the following “acts of kindness!” Encourage your kids to take part! :)

Curriculum

Reading: We will continue to discuss how readers talk about books and share what they notice, think, and wonder. We will also practice using reading strategies to help us solve words.

Writing: We will begin a new unit on persuasive and opinion writing. We will be using our words like “magic wands” to think of ways to solve a problem and make a change. We will learn to include reasons to make our writing more convincing.

Science/Social Studies: What is the role of a president? We will learn more about some of the past presidents lives!

Math: We will begin Unit 6! Students learn the names, describe the attributes, and discuss the similarities and differences between two-dimensional and three- dimensional shapes. They will sort 2D and 3D shapes and compare them.

Reminders!

*Please send a NUT-FREE snack with your child daily! NOTE: Snacks that are processed in the same facility as nuts are not permitted.

* If your child has a transportation change, please send in a note to me in the GREEN folder and also another note for the bus driver.

* PLEASE BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR CHILD DRESS FOR THE COLD WEATHER FOR RECESS!

* Remember to check/send the GREEN take-home folder daily.
