Popsicle sticks can come in handy for tons of fun DIY crafts, including this photo frame! The perfect gift for your loved ones, a DIY popsicle stick photo frame is a great way to show how much you care.

Supplies

• Popsicle sticks

• Cardboard

• Glue

• Scissors

• Coloring utensils

• Any other decorating supplies

• A printed photo, to put in the frame!

Instructions

1. To begin making your frame, first gather your popsicle sticks. What shape do you want your frame to be? A good start is a basic square, so arrange your popsicle sticks to make a square and be sure the corners overlap so you’l l have a place to glue them together. You can also make a thicker square by laying two popsicle sticks next to each other on each side, or make more complicated designs by cutting your popsicle sticks into different lengths and arranging them however you l ike — just be sure you’l l have places to glue them al l together in the end!

2. Once you’ve decided on the shape of your frame and have laid your sticks out to be sure it wil l work, you can begin decorating! Start by coloring or painting your sticks, or draw cool designs on them. You can also take this time to color in and cut out the Peanuts characters on the next page. We’l l add these to our photo frame design later!

3. Now, it’s time to glue your frame together! Arrange your sticks back in the design you made before, and glue the overlapping parts together so your frame is nice and sturdy.

4. Want to decorate your frame even further? Once it’s al l glued together, you can add other materials to your frame, such as buttons, sequins, pipe cleaners, and of course the Peanuts cutouts on the next page!

5. To make a backing for your frame, take a piece of cardboard and place your frame on top of it. Trace the outline of your frame, and then remove it. Now, draw an outline about 4-5 mil l imeters inside of that, and cut it out along that l ine. This way, your backing won’t poke out beyond your frame, but the backing wil l sti l l be big enough to glue your frame to.

6. Cut your photo to the size of the cardboard backing, if it’s too big. If it’s smaller than the cardboard, that’s okay too! You can decorate any extra cardboard that’s showing around the photo to make it even prettier if you want. Glue your photo to your cardboard, and then glue your frame on top of that, and you’re al l set! You might want to glue a ribbon or string loop to the back to hang your photo frame, or you can leave it as is and prop it up against something to display it.

7. You did it ! Now comes the best part: spreading kindness by giving your gift to someone you love.
