How to install the Tetum spellchecker in your computer

1. Copy the file OPENSOURCE SPELLCHECK UNICODE to a folder in your computer.2. Open a word document.

3. Write something with a spelling mistake in Tetum, like hau4. Go to Review.5. Go to Spelling and Grammar.

6. Click Options.

7. And then…

8. Click in Custom Dictionaries.

9. Click Add, and then browse to find the OPENSOURCE SPELLCHECK UNICODE file that you saved in a folder before. Click OK and then OK again.

10. The spellchecker is ready to use. If you insert an apostrophe in the correct place in the word ha’u you will see that the red underscore will disappear.

11. Now write these Tetum words with spelling mistakes: nebe, nebee, neebe, bo’ot

12. If you right click with your mouse you will see that the program is suggesting several options including ne’ebé and boot, which are correct.

In the other mistakes the program is not including in the suggestions the word you’re looking for, but at least the red underscore is telling you that you need to correct that word because there is a spelling mistake.
