Why 1470nm and 980nm ?

810-980nm are absorbed in the first instance by hemoglobine (HbO2)

whereas longer wavelenth like 1470nm are dominantly absorbed by

intracellular water

Example 1: Absorption

coefficient for 1470nm

approximatelly 40 times

higher than 980

Example 2: Absorption

coefficient for 1470nm

approximatelly 400

times higher than

810nm

Better control on penetration depth using 1470nm for sensitive structures

1470nm 980nm DUAL

Easy „one touch“ controll using single or mixing both wavelenths

Radiation pattern ELVeS ® Radial Fiber for use with 1470nm only

Radial emitting fiber tip for a

unique and homogenous energy

delivery directly to the vein wall

avoiding perforation and minimising

complications and side effects

Allowing perfect positioning of the laser beam

within the anatomy, exactly where you decide

to start the closure

Atraumatic fiber tip, marking lines and highest

US visibility for easy and safe positioning and

Presentation by Dr. Petar Dragic

„Lasercrossectomy“

A variety of vascular lesions can be treated using the

external handpiece including spider veins,

telangiectasias and hemangiomas found on the legs,

face, neck and chest using 980nm which has a

absorption peak in the near infra red

The result of epidermal cooling and

higher laser fluences increases efficacy, allows deeper

laser penetration, and minimizes treatment pain for larger

vessels.

Exact position of the individual laser pulse signals (optimal closure rate)

Precise Targeting of Spiders

The light of a 980 nm wavelength ensures

precise targeting for spider veins due to its:

• Effective penetration depth

• Optimal absorption by hemoglobin

• Ideal absorption by water

• Minimal melanin absorption

when compared to other lasers

The Benefit:

• Safer and more effective treatment

• Treatment of darker skin types

1)

(Combination-therapy)

the laser treatment can be combined with the classic

sclerosation therapy. E.g. wider areas with heavily

braching lesions can be primary served by sclerosation

and therapy resistant lesions can be definetelly cured

with the pulsed diode laser.

Avoid side effects like blisters and scars by carefull

selection of the energy and use it only on non-tanned

patients.

2)

Complicated venous or mixed malformations can be

adressed by interstitial use of the laser fibre.
