Everyone is so highly influenced by someone or something that it is hard for me to believe any of us can come up with an original thought. I mean Solomon tells us in Ecclesiastes 1:9, “What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.” That means that “Influence” is powerful in our lives. Who or what we let influence us can change the course of our lives. I discovered this during my abiding time in 2 Chronicles as I read through the influence on the kings of Judah and how that influence effected their life. I shared with the students last month that they must ANALYZE everything in their life by the authority of Scripture to see if it is a good or bad influence. Then they must IDENTIFY who/what is influencing them and determine how much time they should be around that thing or person. Second, I gave them this challenge; DON’T WASTE YOUR INFLUENCE ON OTHERS. What I mean is this, God has given you a specific area of influence and who you are around are the people God has given you to be an influence for Him. That means every word you say and action you do is influencing the people around you in a positive or negative way. Be wise and use your influence for the glory of God!

This month the students have an opportunity be influenced in a positive way through the rap music of my good friend Nate Davis, a.k.a. Zero Doubt. He will be with us the first Wednesday of April spreading the truth of God’s Word through the medium/influence of rap music. If you have a student who is interested in rap music please invite them. The next Wednesday, our own Kristian Soto Williams will be influencing the students through preaching the Word. This is a great opportunity for him to exercise his gifts and talents while at the same time give the students another voice of influence in their lives. I am excited about what God is doing in the student ministry as we have said “Goodbye” to Jonathon Pigg and Mason Hunt. They both were a tremendous influence here and I pray will be the same at Eastanallee Etowah. I pray now that God will rise up the next Kingdom Influencers in the student ministry to equip the next generation!

Humbly Desiring to Serve,

Jonathan Kyle

The W’s (Middle East) God has heard your faithful cries on our behalf and has provided unexpected direction for our future! He has opened a door for D to teach in a neighboring country  Thank you for responding to our pleas begging you to join us in crying out to the Lord about our future. Please continue to intercede for us as we move from one country to another, one school to another, one ministry opportunity to another.  We are excited to see what awaits us in our new city, but we will also be saying some sad goodbyes to friendships God has given us in the two years we have lived here.  Ask Him to keep us FAITHFUL to Him, and to make us FRUITFUL for Him. Dear CHURCH Family,

We got to experience some very healthy CCBC DNA as Jonathan Kyle sent out Jonathon Pigg to Eastanollee Etowah AND ALL OF US as we scatter out during the week! I am trying to let a book called “Designed to Lead” go through me. One of the principles in it stated that “while there is no division between God’s sons and daughters, there is distinction…Pastors are not more holy, more loved, or in better standing with God. They are not divided from the people of God, but they are distinct. The Lord has given them to His Church so they may equip and prepare God’s people for ministry…For equipping—a biblical approach to ministry—to occur in a local church, the pastors and the church as a whole must hold tightly to the conviction that ALL OF GOD’S PEOPLE ARE MINISTERS.”

The more we are “bearing fruit,” the more all of us see life as ministry! In our culture, there is a place for vocational ministry where people get paid to do ministry as their job. I am blessed to be one of those people. At the same time, my job is to get us all to do ministry. In some sense, I am trying to work myself out of a job! Oh, may I never hoard ministry that is meant to be shared. Oh, may I never take for granted those who have “done ministry” at Candies Creek “without pay” long before I got here and continue to do so. Don’t get me wrong, I pray our paid ministry staff is working as unto the Lord.

We also fight against a myth in our culture that “the priesthood of the believer” means we don’t need the church. The truth of the matter is that since we are all priests then we should all be building up Christ’s Church! My prayer is that God will use intentional (unpaid) leaders in our G3 Sunday Groups and G3 Home Groups to help people mature in the Bible, as the Church, for the mission! My prayer is also that God will use me as a (paid) intentional leader to keep this vision before the people in order to reproduce leaders who reproduce leaders.

Encouraging the CHURCH Family,

Stan

PRAYING FOR UNITY AMONG BELIEVERSBehold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133:1 nasb).

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity” (John 17:22-23).

PRAYER CALENDAR APRIL // 2018

1 Pray that Christians who fall short of unity within the body of Christ and find themselves divided over trivial issues will focus on the cross of Christ and His resurrection, understanding how through His sacrificial love He put to death the enmities between us (Ephesians 2:16).

2 Observing that unity within the bride of Christ has been devalued in this generation, pray that once again churches all over the nation will see “how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1).

3 Pray that today’s church will understand how the glory of Christ’s presence within each true believer unites the body of Christ and enables all Christians to experience the same perfect oneness shared between the Father and His Son (John 17:22-23).

4 As today’s churches demonstrate supernatural unity reflecting their oneness with God the Father and Jesus, pray that the world will recognize the unique-ness of this miracle and acknowledge that God truly sent Jesus into the world out of His great love for mankind (John 17:23).

5 Just as the watchmen for Jerusalem rejoiced together when God brought peace to their great city, pray that intercessors across America will look forward to rejoicing together as God brings revival, salvation, and peace to the cities of this great nation (Isaiah 52:8).

6 As Christians recognize the truth that the Spirit of Christ Jesus lives within us as a teacher and guide, pray that we will acknowledge Him as such by looking to Him to teach us everything we need to know about being united as brothers and sisters (Matthew 23:8).

7 Just as God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one, pray that Christians in your community will stand united in spirit, to be a clear reflection of the unity found in the Trinity (Ephesians 4:4-6).

8 Knowing that Christians have all been created by the same Father, pray that we will purpose to stand united and not “deal treacherously each against his brother so as to profane the covenant of our fathers” (Malachi 2:10).

9 Just as the “Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,” pray that as adopted children we will join together in standing against fear and in worshiping our loving Father (Romans 8:15-16).

10 Pray that Christians will not maintain divisive atti-tudes, but will stand in unity, “giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheri-tance of the saints in Light” (Colossians 1:12).

11 Pray that today’s church will stand together as we “love God and observe His commandments.” Through obedience to God, we can find confidence in loving all the children of God (1 John 5:2).

12 Pray that the Christians of your community will see themselves together as a royal priesthood, a generation of believers set apart to “proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called [us] out of dark-ness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).

13 Since in communion “we all partake of the one bread” and drink from the “cup of blessing,” portraying the body and blood of Christ, may we then pray that we will see ourselves “who are many” as one body, all united through Christ’s sacrificial work (1 Corinthians 10:16-17).

Page 12: He is not here; He has risen, Just as He said…

14 Pray that your church family will grasp and live out the unity found in Christ that Paul described: “Even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:12).

15 Pray that church families will understand and accept the “body of Christ” analogy that brings various people groups together into one body, especially when a church is filled with Christians coming out of differing ethnic and socio-economic groups (1 Corinthians 12:13-14).

16 Since every church member is uniquely gifted and placed in a church family according to God’s desires, pray that each member of your church family will accept both his or her role in the church as well as the roles of others (1 Corinthians 12:14-18).

17 Since “God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked, so that there may be no division in the body,” pray for your church family to stand united, demonstrating an equal amount of care for one another (1 Corinthians 12:24-25).

18 Pray that your church family will be so united that when “one member suffers, all the members suffer,” and when “one member is honored, all the members rejoice” (1 Corinthians 12:26).

19 Even though the spiritual gifts within your church family vary from person to person, pray that unity will prevail, with every person being “devoted to one another in brotherly love” and giving “preference to one another in honor” (Romans 12:10).

20 Since all true believers are “sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus,” pray that the members of your church family will clothe themselves with Christ and live peace-fully together. Pray that they will find unity as they live out the promises of God’s Word (Galatians 3:26-29).

21 Just as Christ “broke down the barrier of the dividing wall” between Jewish and Gentile believers, pray that God will continue to break down the walls that divide Christians today—the walls that keep them from walking in unity (Ephesians 2:14).

22 Pray that Christians within your community will “put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity,” and will “let the peace of Christ rule” in their hearts as they interact with other believers and churches (Colossians 3:14-15).

23 Following the resurrection of Jesus, His first followers “all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer” (Acts 1:14). Pray that today’s church will be united with one mind as they pray, minister together, and follow Christ’s commands.

24 Pray that all within your church family will agree, and that there will be “no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment” as you carry on the work of the ministry (1 Corinthians 1:10).

25 In order for your church family to be accepted as Christ’s disciples and present a clear, unified witness of the gospel to those living within your community, pray that the members will consistently love each other the way Christ loves them (John 13:34-35).

26 Pray that your congregation will glorify God as you stand united in serving Christ and in letting the light of Christ shine through you (Matthew 5:16).

27 Pray that your church family will be united as they pray for each other, asking God to not lead them into tempta-tion but to deliver them from evil (Matthew 6:13).

28 Pray that your church family will make a unified com-mitment to “be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead” as you serve and minister to each other (1 Peter 3:8-9).

29 Pray that Christians living in your community will be “diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” as they demonstrate “humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love” (Ephesians 4:2-3).

30 Pray that Christians across America will stand united “with all prayer and petition,” praying at all times in the Spirit and being “on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:18).
