Additional informationincluding press releases, photos, and videofootage is available by request to accreditedmedia outlets. Any questions not coveredin this publication can be directed to theHampton University Sports InformationOffice.

    CREDENTIALSCredentials for Hampton University homegames are issued to working media onlyand must be visible at all times for accessto the press box. Requests should be madeas soon as possible, in writing and on

    company letterhead to Jamar Ross, Director of SportsInformation at 194 Holland Hall, Hampton, Virginia 23668or via fax at (757) 727-5813. Season credentials will begranted only to daily newspapers and television/radiostations that cover the Pirates on a regular basis. Other mediaoutlets will be granted credentials on a single-game, spaceavailable basis at the discretion of the Sports InformationOffice. Requests for single-game credentials should arrive nolater than 48 hours prior to the day of the game.

    Credentials will be mailed if time permits or can be pickedup at the Sports Information Office, Room 194 Holland Hall,until 5:00 p.m. the day before the game. Otherwise, they willbe left at the press will-call booth at Armstrong Stadium.

    FOOTBALL PRACTICEHampton University football practices are open to themedia. Coach Taylor will meet with interested media 15minutes prior to or immediately following practice. Pleasecontact the Sports Information Office if you plan to attend.A member of the Pirates Sports Information staff will assistin gathering requested players for interviews.

    INTERVIEW POLICIES

    WEEKLY PRESS CONFERENCECoach Taylor plays host to a weekly mediaconference on Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m.in the Team Room of Armstrong Stadium.He will highlight the previous weekscontest and also preview the upcomingopponent. In addition, Pirate student-athletes will also be in attendance andavailable for one-on-one interviews.

    INTERVIEWING COACH TAYLORAll media outlets that are unable to attendthe weekly press conference may arrangean interview with Coach Taylor through the SportsInformation Office. Please arrange all interviews at least 24hours in advance. Interviews will be conducted either prior toor at the conclusion of practice; no interviews will beconducted during practice.

    PLAYER INTERVIEWSPlayers are available for interviews in person or via telephonethroughout the week. All player interviews should bearranged through the Sports Information Office and at least24 hours in advance. Telephone interviews will be conductedwhen the players schedules allow. Hampton Universityplayers will not accept calls from the media in their rooms.

    POSTGAME INTERVIEWSFollowing a brief cooling-off period, Coach Taylor andrequested HU players will be brought to the interview area inArmstrong Stadium. Requests for players will be collected inthe press box, midway through the fourth quarter. The lockerroom and training area are closed to the media.

    PRESS PARKINGPress parking passes are available upon request on a limitedbasis and must be picked up at least 24 hours in advance ofthe weekly contest. Press parking is located in Lot #3 adjacentto the tennis stadium or Lot #11 adjacent to the HamptonUniversity Convocation Center. Press parking credentialsmust be visible in the front window at all times. Passes cannotbe transferred or replaced.

    PRESS BOX SERVICESPrograms, flip cards, statistics and game notes will beprovided before each game. A play-by-play will be distributedat the conclusion of each quarter. Halftime statistics also willbe available. Complete team and individual statistics andscoring summary will be provided after the game. A lightmeal will be served during halftime of each game and softdrinks are available throughout the contest.
