Easter Egg Psalms

These Easter egg psalms will make a great prayer table decoration in your classroom, and each day of Easter has its own egg/Psalm. I cut the strips with the Psalms and then put one verse in each Easter egg. Then I place the basket on our class prayer table. Each morning a different student picks an egg, opens it, and we use that verse in our morning prayer. I have also included blank strips if you wanted to make your own. I also have students look up Easter verses to include in the eggs- the blank slips work nicely for this.

All the verses I have used come from the New American Bible Revised Edition.

Via Lucis Resources

Many Catholics are familiar with the devotional prayer of the Stations of the Cross, but not as many know about the Via Lucis, or 14 Stations of the Resurrection. These fourteen stories from the Gospels and Acts of the Apostles tell the story of the resurrected Christ in all his appearances during the forty days of the Easter season.

You can pray the Via Lucis the same way you would pray the stations. You can find a set of the prayers at: https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/resource/55486/via-lucis-way-of-the-light

They follow a format similar to the tradition prayers of the Stations of the Cross.

When using these resources in my class, I usually assign the stories so that we will end up with a complete set of the Stations of Light. Students research one story, then retell it from the point of view of one of the characters in the story. (In my Lent resources you will find a similar activity using the stations of the cross.) Students also create a “stained glass window” of the station using construction paper.

This resource contains: a list of the Via Lucis Stations, a story research sheet, a story telling worksheet, a rubric for the story and directions and a rubric for the artwork.
