LAKEVIEWWEEK OF MARCH 29, 2021

life

Dear Lakeview Family,

This Sunday, April 4, is Resurrection Day. I can hardly wait. We will begin the day with a sunrise service on the green field at 6:26 AM (that is the moment when the sun is to appear in the eastern sky). You will want to dress warmly.

Then at 10:45 AM, we will assemble again in the worship center for a joyous celebration of Jesus’ triumph over death. Our Celebration Choir and Orchestra will sing and play. We will sing the glorious songs of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior.

Jesus is our RISEN Lord. We have resurrection hope because he arose from the dead. The apostle Paul wrote, “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins...But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead” (1 Corinthians 15:17, 20). Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Jesus is our REIGNING Lord. Following his resurrection and ascension back to heaven, he “sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven” (Hebrews 3:1). Hallelujah! Praise his holy name!

Jesus is our RETURNING Lord. As his redeemed sons and daughters “we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness” (2 Peter 3:13). This is our blessed hope. Hallelujah! Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

Thank you for praying for me as I preach both at the Sunrise Service and at the 10:45 worship hour. I know that I can count on you to be welcoming to the guests who always join us on Easter Sunday.

EASTER WEEK DEVOTIONALS

He is risen. He is risen indeed! Excitement is brewing as we steadily approach the greatest celebration in all of human history - the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This year for Easter, we are going to publish devotionals each day from Palm Sunday, March 28, through Saturday, April 3 to encourage us as a faith family and to help us focus on the meaning of Easter. Several of our pastors are sharing short devotionals each morning that are available as videos on our website, social platforms, and audio on our podcast.

ON FAMILYMINISTRY

This is Resurrection Week and we as Christians have the most to celebrate. We have a Savior worthy of worship and sharing. I pray this week especially will be an encouraging week for all of you as we think more about what Jesus’ death and resurrection means to us. Let us rejoice and give thanks!

On a Sunday Bible study note, our numbers continue to increase each week as people come back. We had 188 this past week. With the guidelines changing soon and the Covid numbers continuing to come down, we anticipate a time soon when more things will get back to normal, or the “new normal.” We are talking and planning weekly about resuming all or most of our Sunday school classes. Be on the lookout for more information and announcements soon. Remember, even if your class has not started back yet, there is a place for you in this time of transition.

He is risen. He is risen indeed!Cliff
