Shri KK Nirala Collector amp District Magistrate Kheda has presided over the entire public hearingprocess

Shri KR Upadhyay Regional Officer GPCB 203-205 B Block Sardar Patel Bhavan Nadiad as aRepresentative of the Member Secretary GPCB welcomed all present in the Public Hearing Heoutlined the various provisions of the Notification and briefed the procedural details for conducting thispublic hearing including actions taken by GPCB for wide publicity of this Public hearing including theadvertisement given earlier in the local dailies He announced that as per the provision of notificationonly locally affected persons will be allowed to represent in the public hearing while others havingplausible stake may give their representation in writing which would be included in proceedings

He then opened the Public Hearing after due permission from Additional District Magistrate He invitedthe project Proponent to give their introduction and to make the presentation oftheir project

Thereafter presentation in Gujarati language covering introduction of the company product profiletechnical information detail of proposed project Environmental Management System its impact onenvironment along with proposed mitigation measures was presented by representative of projectproponent Mr Malav Dalwadi

After the presentation by the project proponent Regional Officer GPCB with the due permission of theAdditional District Magistrate opened the forum for representationsl suggestionobjections from thelocally affected people

is the only matter pollution plays major role Major source ofpollution which may cause damage to theenvironment is our boiler which is of verysmall capacity as per our requirement Reasonis that our formaldehyde manufacturing processrequires high temperature initially and afterthat heat generates from the exothermicreaction of oxidation of methanol occurs inpresence of catalyst Thus there is no furtherrequirement of heat as heat generates from theprocess itself Boiler will be run initially 2-3hours and particulate matter to be emitted atthat time may cause damage to theenvironment Now to control this particulatematter or to avoid any damage to theenvironment bag filter will be installed as airpollution control system as suggested byGujarat Pollution Control Board However it isnot required for 1 TPH boiler But consideringour responsibility to avoid any damage to thesurrounding environment as well the latestavailable technology we have proposed bagfilter as the air pollution control unitTherefore there will not be any dispersion ofparticulate matter occurred in environmentSecondly from our process no generation ofany hazardous or toxic wastewater Onlywashing wastewater and RO reject will begenerated in which mainly TDS concentrationwill high This wastewater will be evaporatedand condensate will be reused Bottom salt willbe collected and packed in bag and properlystored designated storage room with puccaflooring which will ultimately disposed of atGPCB authorized TSDF site In short I wouldsay that there will not be any damage occurredwithin the factory premises as well in thevicinity due to this three things air pollutionwater pollution and solid waste
