I would recommend Gamo Whisper to any member that is in the market for a reasonable price yet highly accurate pellet rifle. The optics supplied with the combination unit is also of very good quality. Our state squirrel season was in during testing and I had the opportunity to take 2 squirrels at approximately 20 yard and the Whisper performed flawlessly.I was very impressed with the accuracy of the Whisper with all pellets the match where fantastic. The PBA’s as advertised where also impressive with the addition power.

The rifle was supplied with four types of ammo in 250 units per tin all shot extremely well with outstanding accuracy Also, gold plated power pellets were supplied in 100 pellets to a container. All shot well at approximately 1,000 fps at 25, 50, and 75 yards with outstanding accuracy.

The Gamo Whisper has the feel of my hunting rifles. Practicing with it helps with breathing and trigger pull, both of which will improve accuracy. Not only will it help my hunting, but it is easy enough to cock and load that my wife and son can enjoy shooting it as well. I intend to integrate shooting it into the hunter safety classes I teach.

Recommend 100%, This gun replaces my 22 Rifle for squirrel hunting as I can now get more then one shot off before alerting the woods. Very accurate, high powered and the light weight makes its great for squirrel hunting or just plinking.

This rifle is accurate and is powerful enough to hunt small game and the 3x9 scope was excellent. I successfully killed two gray squirrels at 30 yards, one with the hunter pellet and one with the PBA pellet. The hunter lead pellet is a good all around performer and the harder raptor PBA pellet has great penetration. The hunter pellet penetration on longer shots at small game is marginal, but the raptor PBA pellet shoots though both sides of a steel coffee can. The only improvements I would recommend would be a better trigger on the rifle and tighter diameter tolerances on the raptor PBA pellets as occasional undersized pellets were less accurate.

Several people (6) could not tell any differance in loudness between the Whisper and the Gamo Silver Shadow air rifle.

I would highly recommend this Gamo Whisper .177 Pellet Rifle, very easy to use, VERY ACCURATE, and consistant. I took it to our deer hunting camp and fellow hunters also tried it out and were very impressed with the quality and accuracy of this gun. Would highly recommend.

I was supprised at the accuracy I was able to achieve with this product

I would highly reccomend this air rifle combo. It is both quite and very accurate. The rifle combo is so light that you can carry it all day and not get tired. The adjustable trigger is nice feature that allows you to set the trigger to your own personal trigger pull. The integrated noise dampner makes the rifle combo quite which makes it a great gun for use near homes and neighbors. I really enjoyed just target shooting at home in the yard with this gun.

I could not get ANY consistent shot groups. I tested a variety of ammunition at varying distances from 10 yards out to twenty five yards. I also repeated testing at the listed distances with the use of the scope and iron sights. I could not achieve anything better than a 2 to 3 inch group at 10 yards and a 6 to 8 inch group at 25 yards. Because of this I would not recommend the weapon for small game.

Cocking and loading is very easy. Much less effort than I expected. The 3X9 scope was easy to mount and is very clear.

The "silencer" on the barrel may be effective in reducing the noise, but it looks like something that would be on a toy gun. Making it effective without the blue colored highlights and rakish look would make it look more serious.

Shooting the air rifle brought me back to my youth. The big difference is that the Gamo is accurate and has the feel of a serious rifle whereas my old BB gun had neither of these attributes. If I'd have known that this rifle was so easy to use and so much fun to shoot, I would have bought one years ago.

High powered, accurate and light weight is great at only 5lbs.

Scope needs to sit higher on the gun to reduce barrel shadow in bottom of scope.

I own several other air rifles and GAMO has made definite improvements to the high powered air rifle market. This is my new favorite.

Style and ease of use.

Accurate (0.5 inches at 15 yards) and powerful enough to hunt small game, especially with the PBA pellet. It was really fun stalking and hunting the squirrels.

Better trigger. Current trigger is heavy and has a long pull. More uniform PBA pellets.

It is best to stick with one type of pellet as each pellet has a slightly different point of impact. The lead hunter pellet advertized velocity was 940 fps and I measured a close 920 fps. However, the PBA pellet was advertized at 1200 and I measured only 1050 fps.

Quieter. Better scope - not in focus at higher magnification. Had to buy a new scope already.

Chrono thru an Oehler 35 - PBA @1037 FPS. The 3 yr old Gamo Silver Shadow was always 45-55 fps faster then the Whisper

Very easy to set up, with open sights and also very easy to set up with the enclosed scope w/mounts. Very Accurate

Maybe a camo colored stock as an option, also attachments for a gun sling

This Gamo Whisper .177 pellet rifle is tops in the pellet rifle world in my book!!!

Terrible trigger pull. Lots of creep. Supposedly adjustable but I couldn't get much of an adjustment out of it.Make cocking with a rachet system. My daughter could not cock it. She got it 85% of the way and she couldn't get it the rest of the way. A rachet system would help with this.

Except for the trigger pull everything else was excellent. I have never shot a pellet rifle before and was surprised by the accuracy.

The air rifle combo is very light and easy to carry around. The air rifle is very quite and very accurate. The air rifle is very easy to load. The adjustbale trigger is great. I set the trigger to the position that worked best for me. The ventiltated recoil pad is very comfortable and makes the air rifle feel like a high power hunting rifle.

The only issue I had with the gun was that it seems that it must be sighted in to a specific range. If I would sight it in dead on at close range it was off at medium and long range. Wherever I sighted it in was very accurate. This may be common in air rifles I am not sure. When sighted in with a rest I could shoot the entire center out of the bullseye!

The air rifle combo really performs well with the Raptor pellets. With a rest I was able to shoot out the center of the bullseye over and over again.

Appearance and ease of use were the best features. The power generation was also impressive.

The trigger guard must be removed to access the adjustment screw for the trigger tension. I think that by widening the existing hole in the trigger guard you could access the set screw easily, without removing the trigger guard. With the muzzle velocity generated and the use of a 9 power scope the accuracy was not what it should be. This could be attributed to the barrel not resetting in the exact same position after cocking, or the muzzle "silencer" is effecting pellet flight when leaving the barrel.

I would only recommend this item for plinking only.
