Research and Academic LabChicago, IL.

The proposed Research and Academic facility, across the Prentice Women's hospital, will allow the workers and researchers to interact with the existing hosptial. With the first floor completely open, the building thrives off it's core (or 'tower'), which serves as the vertical circulation as well as the connecting piece of the two volumes. A pedestrian bridge is implemented on the first floor as a means of access and as a resting place.

As a port city facing water level rise, water plays a huge role in Rotterdam’s Society and culture. This proposed water pavilion is inspired from the continuous movements of the ocean, and its interconnectedness. Taking the form of an ascending grid, different types of program can be implemented. While some parts of the grid are completely sheltered from water, other parts allow people to interact with it beneath.

Miami CinematequeMiami, FL

The Downtown Miami Cinematheque's layout consists of three courtyards, two buildings, and one connecting bridge. These courtyards act as program gathering spaces between the main buildings, and can host different types of events for the public. The program focuses on two theatres, and program on the ground floor such as a restaurant, library and cafe.

Modular HabitatMiami, FLBy creating a system of modular units that overlap eachother, a community is created in which every home would have it’s own garden. Implenting passive design strategies, the goal was to create an appartment building that would allow maximize sunlight, while diminishing the boundary between interior and exterior.

Miami has three layers; water, cityscape, and circulation. This design proposes folding the circulaiton into a vertical surface for a smooth and distinct connection from the ground to the metrorail terminal. The lack of program in the existing metro stations result in a very mundane routing for commuters. By implenenting programs that shift and overlap eachother, a series of overhead conditions are created for people in other parts of the station. This metro station also proposes to connect to existing buildings, in hopes to set a new language for the metro system in Miami.
