No. ICARJIASRIICABin-04(1)/15 Dated the 27th April, 2015 Dear Colleague, As you may be aware, the National Agricultural Bioinformatics Grid (NABG) has been established in the country along with "Advanced Supercomputing Hub for OMICS Knowledge in Agriculture - ASHOKA" at Centre for Agricultural Bioinformatics (CABin) in ICAR-Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute, New Delhi under National Agricultural Innovation Project. This is a national facility dedicated to agricultural bioinformatics and computational biology. In order to provide access to this advanced computing facility to researchers of NARES, a National 'Bio-Computing Portal (http://webapp.cabgrid.res.in/biocomp/) has been developed through which authenticated users will be able to perform their biological data analysis from their respective locations. This portal consists of number of agricultural bioinformatics and computational biology software/ workflow/ pipelines which will be able to automate routine biological analytics in seamless manner. Also, a Sequence Submission Portal (http://webapp.cabgrid.res.inldnadb/) is being developed following international standards to assist our researchers for submission of their genomic data sets obtained through biological experimentations. Therefore, you are requested to circulate/ communicate this among researchers of your organization so that they can use these national facilities for their research work. This will help us in development of globally competitive agricultural products, which may not only increase our agricultural productivity/ exports, but also help in protection of our IPRI patents/ copyrights. Detailed steps to use this on-line facility are enclosed with this letter. In case you have any clarification, the Director, ICAR-IASRI, New Delhi ([email protected]) or Head (CABin) (hd.cabin(q)iasri.res.in, biocomp((j!jasri.res.in) may be contacted.
