    Come pu, unarchitettura, cristallizzare unsogno o un pensiero con la stessa forza evoca-tiva di una poesia o di un quadro? La forza nar-rativa espressa dal progetto di RCR Arquitectessi pone come obiettivo quello di sperimentare,attraverso il progetto, la possibilit di crearenuove relazioni percettive tra larchitettura e

    chi si relaziona con essa: ristorante ovvero il(...) proyecto de la evocacin. Evocar el pasa-do. Evocar la autosubsistencia. Evocar la vidaal aire libre. Evocar la sensualidad. Evocar elarte culinario. Evocar la tarjeta electrnica.Evocar el futuro. Evocar el tiempo1. Se allim-maginazione non lecito porre limiti alloraogni sogno pu, attraverso larchitettura, es-sere reso esplicito, rappresentato, idealizzato,evocato appunto. I materiali e la loro possibi-lit di essere plasmati dalla fantasia di chi limanipola possono contribuire in modo deter-minante allesperienza dello spazio architet-

    tonico che si manifesta nella percezione; apercezione completa dellarchitettura dipendedal materiale e dal dettaglio del mondo dellac-quisizione tattile come il gusto di una pietanzadipende dal sapore dei suoi ingredienti2.La trasformazione e lampliamento previstodal progetto di RCR si articola attraverso duescelte programmatiche; la prima di caratterefunzionale e laltra di carattere concettuale: 1.la riorganizzazione distributiva necessaria permigliorare la fruizione degli spazi interni e pergarantire un utilizzo pi razionale degli am-bienti destinati alla cucina e alla ristorazione;

    2. lindividuazione di un tema architettonicocapace di migliorare e rinnovare limmagine

    How can a work of architecture make a dreamor a thought tangible with the same evocativepower as a poem or a painting?The narrative power of RCR arquitectess de-sign aims to use designing to explore new visualrelationships between the building and thoserelating to it. A restaurant or the (...) proyectode la evocacin. Evocar el pasado. Evocar la

    autosubsistencia. Evocar la vida al aire libre.Evocar la sensualidad. Evocar el arte culinario.Evocar la tarjeta electrnica. Evocar el futuro.Evocar el tiempo1. If we shouldnt place lim-its on the imagination, then architecture canmake any dream explicit, represented, ideal-ized and, indeed, evoked.The materials and their ability to be moldedby the imagination of those manipulating themcan be a decisive contribution to the experi-ence of the architectural space as it is mani-fested in its perception: The architecturescomplete perception depends on the material

    and the detail of the world of tactile acquisi-tion, just as the taste of a dish depends on the

    flavor of its ingredients2. RCRs transforma-tion and expansion design is based on two or-ganizing choices, one functional and the otherconceptual: 1. the distributional reorganiza-tion needed to improve the use of the interiorsand a more rational use of the spaces for thekitchen and dining area; 2. finding an architec-tural concept to improve and renew the build-

    ings interior and exterior image.For the first need, the interior distribution wasorganized by defining two main axes set per-pendicularly to each other. The longitudinalaxis is the long, narrow dining area flankedby other small private dining areas and bath-rooms; the cross axis which holds the restau-rants main entrance, was equipped with an-other dining area, which directly overlooksthe outside garden, and a large kitchen withan internal patio.The second organizational choice underscoresthe conceptual intent to avoid hiding the new

    additions, choosing to put them into relation-ship with the existing structure; this concept

    was developed through the design of complex,ingenuous semitransparent filters that helplighten the visual impact of the new entrance

    volume through an osmosis-like alternation ofsolids and voids. At the same time, they pro-

    vide visual continuity between inside and out.The perception created is a mysterious, allur-ing image with subtle transparencies, light

    and shadows generating new, sophisticatedrelationships, intentionally voyeuristic, wherethe peek-a-boo effect makes the existing andnewly deigned spaces even more attractiveand interesting. The long iron bands, coilingaround themselves, become so lightweightto become like thin golden wires, seeminglymoved by the wind, flowing and waving in theair. This pulsating, undulating movement is ac-centuated by the reverberation of the artificiallight. The lighting intensifies the perceptual,sensory experience. This experience has deepsimilarit
