These standards document the basic elements of the Flextronics Corporate Identity System and provide guidelines for their correct usage.

For more information on the Flextronics identity system, please contact David LeDrew at 408.576.1992, david.ledrew@fl extronics.com or Renee Brotherton at 408.576.7189, renee.brotherton@fl extronics.com.

Since we fi rst introduced the Flextronics corporate identity system in December 2000, we have made changes to accommodate the diverse needs of our global facilities. We believe this evolutionary process has resulted in a more effective corporate identity program. The main goal is to coordinate all of our visual images from stationery to exterior signage so that we present a strong, identifi able image to all of our audiences. The standards and guidelines that follow should help you understand, implement and maintain the Flextronics image. These guidelines have been developed so that all of our employees, vendors, suppliers, etc., wherever located, can deliver the quality standards we have outlined.

Introduction

4Signature System Corporate Signature

The Flextronics identity is built around the signature below. This mark is bold, strong and adaptable. It can be presented in either its positive or negative format according to the most appropriate usage. Whenever possible, use the negative version over a solid blue background.

When presenting the logo against a background without suffi cient contrast, use only the positive version.

Minimum clear space on all sidesapplies to positive and negativeversions of the logo

38.1 mm

Flextronics Silver (metallic) should be used in printing or fabricating the signature whenever possible. When a metallic is not possible, substitute either Flextronics Gray-Light (on dark backgrounds), or Gray-Dark (on light backgrounds). See pages 8 and 9.

The different grays are specifi ed in these guidelines to maintain suffi cient contrast in the Flextronics logo regardless of the background or materials being used.

The Flextronics logo should be surrounded by a minimum clear space on all sides, equal to half the height of the logotype (show as “X” below).

Keep other logos, text, and design elements out of this clear space, except proper placement of business unit names (explained on page 6).

Page 5: Flextronics guidelines

5

The registered version of the signature (®) should be used on all Flextronics brochures, ads, and manuals. Only the fi rst appearance within the printed piece needs the registered mark, or a registered mark must appear in the body copy at the fi rst mention of Flextronics. The same rules apply for partners and third-party vendors.

The ® mark should only be printed in white on dark backgrounds or in black on light backgrounds. When spot colors are being used on white backgrounds the ® may only print in Flextronics blue. Never print the ® in metallic or process colors. The typeface used for the ® symbol is TheSans Extra Light.

The registered versions of the Flextronics logo are provided in two sizes (as EPS electronic fi les). To maintain legibility of the ®, the large (LG) version should be used when the logo appears at a minimum of 1.75” wide. The small logo mark (SM), with a proportionately bigger ®, should be used at sizes smaller than 1.75”, rather than reducing the LG version. Do not enlarge the small logotype, or the ® will appear too big.

Signature System

2The logotype when sized to less than 1.75", uses a relatively larger registered mark to maintain legibility.

1The logotype, when sized to 1.75" or greater, uses a registered mark as tall as the thickness of the logotype’s “S”.

The ®mark’s entire height, includingthe circle, matches the thickness of theFlextronics “S”. The logotype andregistered mark are aligned at the top.

The height of the R within the circle matches the thicknessof the Flextronics letter “S”.

Corporate Signature With Business Unit Name

There may be instances when a Flextronics business unit name will appear with the corporate signature. In such cases, use the layout as shown below with the division name in Flextronics blue for the positive mark, or white for the negative mark.

The business unit name aligns left and under the corporate signature as shown below and its height is 2/3 that of the corporate signature’s height.

The distance between the baseline of the logo and the top of the business unit name is 1/3 the height of the Flextronics logo (also 1/2 the height of the business unit name).

Use TheSans Regular Plain typeface for the business unit name.

The same minimum clear space should be allowed around this entire combination signature (the logo and the business unit together) as was required around the signature without a business unit (see page 4).

Page 7: Flextronics guidelines

7

Modifying the Flextronics signature will undermine the Flextronics logo and weaken our brand. Here are some examples of what not to do with the signature.

Signature System

Don’t use the negative version of the mark over a lightbackground.

Don’t introduce new colors in or around the mark. Staywithin the Flextronics color palette (see pages 8-9 for details).

Don’t present the mark in 3-D, whether in print or inan electronic environment. The only exception to thisrule is signage.

Don’t introduce new colors for the ‘x’ in the signature.Again, stay within the Flextronics color palette.

Don’t use a drop shadow or add other colors as accentsto the signature.

Don’t use the negative version of the signature over a darkbackground. Always ensure enough contrast for legibility.

Blue and silver are the primary colors for the Flextronics Identity. In situations where the identity is presented electronically, the silver becomes gray. In certain cases, such as the PowerPoint sales tool, a warm red/orange color is used as an accent.

Since the Flextronics identity will appear in a variety of different media, we have provided different formulas for specifying correct colors.

When producing print materials, refer to the CMYK or PANTONE® formulas. When preparing art for online use, refer to the hexadecimal numbers. For other on-screen uses or electronic displays, refer to the RGB formulas.

Note: The colors as they appear on this page should NOT be used to match color. Always specify colors using PANTONE references or formulas given in the chart below.

To ensure legibility and consistency, it’s important to use the signature carefully over different backgrounds. Please follow the examples shown here whenever possible.

Recommended background colors are white, Flextronics Blue, and black. If you’re not able to use one of these colors, then choose the signature variation below that creates an appropriate amount of contrast with the background.

In the two-color examples, note how the highlight color in the ‘x’ is always chosen to stand out against the background as well as the rest of the signature.

10Typography Corporate Typefaces

TheSans (also known as Thesis Sans-Serif) is the Flextronics corporate typeface. Use TheSans for most applications, including headlines in print, screen-based media, and signage.

For long body text within documents (including the body text of letters), use Times.

To preserve legibility, do not alter letter spacing or adjust tracking of the typeface. When typing numbers, use the the Caps version of TheSans font family for uniform characters, especially numbers used in tables, charts, addresses and phone numbers.

Both TheSans and Times type families are available from FontShop International at 1 (888) FF-FONTS (888.333.6687) or www.fontshop.com.

The business card has been designed to accommodate both two- and three-line addresses, as well as multiple telephone numbers.

In countries where a second language is desired, the back may be used for the other language. Duplicate the same layout from the front.

Stationery System Business Card

Generally, business cards will be produced from a central source, using the templates delivered with these guidelines.

If you need more information or a set of these templates, please contact David LeDrew at 408.576.1992, or by e-mail at david.ledrew@fl extronics.com.

The preferred stock to specify for business card printing is Strathmore Writing, Ultimate White, Wove, 80 Lb. Pasted cover. Or, substitute the brightest white, wove-fi nish cover stock (80 Lb.) available in your area, using matching letterhead and envelope stock, also specifi ed in these guidelines.

Business cards with three-line addresses or four lines of phone information should be laid out as shown below.

If economic constraints require, you can refrain from printing color on the backside of the business card. However, this is not ideal and should be avoided if possible.

It is especially important to maintain a consistent image of Flextronics. To ensure this consistent image, we have created a stylized look for vehicle signage.

Vehicle signage will vary depending on location. Here are some examples of possible usage.

Flex Factory Best Practices has established guidelines for a standardized “look and feel” for all Flextronics lobbies and conference rooms. The following are suggested for

Interior Facility Signage Lobby and Conference Room Specifi cations

the main lobbies and conference rooms as long as they are aesthetically pleasing and there is enough space without being too crowded.

Flextronics LogoThe Flextronics logo must be visible immediately upon entering the lobby or conference room and it is suggested that it be posted directly behind the receptionist area.

In a conference room, the Flextronics logo should be on a major wall, which in most cases is opposite the side where presentations take place. If your conference room has the metal world map, you do not need to add another logo (Please note: We have discontinued the maps and are no longer taking orders).

Please reference Interior Sign Specifi cations for detailed information.

PostersEach facility must have a copy of the Corporate Quality Policy posted within the main lobby and conference room.

Each facility must have a copy of the Environmental, Health and Safety Policy posted within the main lobby.

At a minimum, the main building on the campus should post one of the current Flextronics advertisement posters within the lobby and primary conference room.

Please reference Poster Specifi cations for Interior Lobby and Conference Rooms.

AwardsAwards should be displayed neatly on shelves in a display case in the main lobby of the facility or in a main conference room (see Fig. 1 and Fig. 2).

Note the above images showing the brushed aluminum letters against darker wall colors. The photoon the far right shows a lighter wall color and acrylic letters painted Flextronics Blue (ref Flextronics color system on page8). Try toachieve the most contrast as possible with the wordmark.
