Exact Location: a position defined by latitude and longitude reading
Equator: imaginary line that divides the world into Northern and Southern Hemispheres….Equator is 0 degrees
Northern Hemisphere: North America, Europe, Asia, Africa
Southern Hemisphere: South America, Africa, Australia, Antarctica
Latitude Lines…imaginary lines NORTH OR SOUTH OF THE EQUATOR…measured in degrees north or south of the equator
Prime Meridian---imaginary line that divides the world into Easter and Western Hemispheres…Prime Meridian is 0 degrees
Eastern Hemisphere: Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Antarctica
Western Hemisphere: North America, South America, Antarctica
Longitude: imaginary lines drawn EAST or WEST of the Prime Meridian..measures in degrees east and west of the prime meridian
RELATIVE LOCATION
Relative Location: the location relationship of one place to another
Example: Relative location of North American to South America: North America is north of South America
Another example: Relative location of Europe to Asia: Europe is west of Asia
