Excluding the inaugural edition, that ranks as the second-best placing by a debutant team in the competitions history, eclipsed only by Portugals third-place finish in 2000. </p><p>Los Cafeteros 11-3 victory over Solomon Islands equalled the record for the most goals scored by a debutant team in a Futsal World Cup game, matching Ukraines 11-goal haul against Australia in 1996. </p><p>The host side reached the final in three of the seven editions staged to date, although the only one that went on to win the title was Brazil in 2008. The Netherlands in 1989 and Spain in 1996 both finished runners-up and their conquerors on each occasion were Brazil.
