As thePresident­El ect and then President of APPA during the years 1995­1997, Ron’smanagement and skill s were needed to broadenAPPA’s outreach, internationally and at home, to alllevels of educational facilities management. APPAExecutive Vice President Lander Medlincharacterized Flinn as "always an engineer, alwaysa Spartan, always a leader, and alw ays an APPAvisiona ry." Flinn held a successful 54­year tenure inhis profession at Michigan State University—andmay actually have had a hand at building, adding onto, or renovating every structure on that campus!Join APPA in wishing Ron Flinn continued successin all endeavors he undertakes in his retirement. Green and Sustainability Jobs and Career ResourcesGreen and sustainability jobs go beyond the solar designer or the wind generatorinstaller. They are defined by the Bureau of Labor Statistics as jobs that producegoods or provide services that benefit the environment or use fewer naturalresources. Green jobs are a subset of sustainability jobs. Sustainability jobs andcareers are about implementing the “triple bottom line of sustainability,” which isoften described as “people, planet, and prosperity” or “environment, equity, andeconomy.” Students need information about both career pathways and jobopenings. Three networks, the Higher Education Associations SustainabilityConsortium (HEASC), the Disciplinary Associations Network for Sustainability,

and the U.S. Partnership for Education for Sustainable Development haveworked with multiple HEASC Sustainability Fellows to compile a listing ofGreen and Sustainability Jobs and Career Resources for use on campusesacross the country. Learn more here.
