APPA NEWS APPA to Launch ANSI Standards Development ActivityAddressing “Total Cost of Ownership” for Buildings, FacilitiesAPPA has announced plans to create an ANSI standard that addressesfacilities asset decision making. The goal is enable owners of buildings andfacilities assets to accurately project financial expenditures throughout the“cradle to grave” building lifecycle. The proposed APPA 1000: Total Cost ofOwnership (TCO) for Facilities Asset Management will establish a commonframework for owners of facilities assets to identify and more effectively trackand manage costs of a facility, building, or supporting infrastructure or assetsover the full life cycle, by utilizing TCO principles.
