2.2.2 Zero-tracking

Zero tracking operates provided that the instrument is within range of not more than 4% of its capacity.

2.2.3 Semi-automatic zero setting

The zero button operates provided that the instrument is within range of not more than 4% of its capacity.

2.2.4 Over-range and under-range If the load is less than gross zero, the display shows a “-” sign before the value.

The instrument may be set to display weights up to nine divisions above Max. At greater loads the display shows “Err3”.

2.2.5 Tare

Subtractive tare balancing can be performed; the net indicator is on when a tare is active.

Note: Emax in the above table refers to the actual measuring range and does not include the dead load for the instrument.

The temperature range for the instrument is -10 °C / +40 °C.

3.3 Software

The software is designated V1.xx, with xx reflecting minor, non-legally relevant modifications. This information is displayed at power up. Software download using the communication ports is only possible via the ICP interface (connector CON1), and is protected by switches on main board. Access to the main board is prevented by the sealing measures described in section 6.2. The legally relevant parameters can only be accessed via the calibration switch, sealed as described in section 6.2. 4 PERIPHERAL DEVICES AND INTERFACES

4.1 Interfaces

The instrument may have the following interface type:

− RS232C − USB

4.2 Peripheral devices The instrument may be connected to any peripheral device that has been issued with a Parts (Test) Certificate by a Notified Body responsible for Module B under Directive 2014/31/EU and bears the CE marking of conformity to the relevant directives; or A peripheral device without a Parts (Test) certificate may be connected under the following conditions:

− it bears the CE marking for conformity to the EMC Directive;

− it is not capable of transmitting any data or instruction into the weighing instrument, other than to release a printout, checking for correct data transmission or validation;

− it prints weighing results and other data as received from the weighing instrument without any modification or further processing; and

− it complies with the applicable requirements of EN45501, i.e. 4.2, 4.4, 4.6 and 4.7.

A printing device may print additional information such as date or number to identify the printed weighing result(s) or sets of weighing results.

4.3 Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS), Electronic Cash Register (ECR), Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT/ECU)

The PRII instruments may be connected to an Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) or Electronic Cash Register (ECR) if the following conditions are met:

− The EPOS or ECR have a Test Certificate issued by a Notified Body appointed to certify instruments according to paragraph 1 of Annex II of the Directive 2014/31/EU;

− If the EPOS or ECR have a preset tare function, they shall carry out this function autonomously and this function shall be in conformity with EN45501;
