A very hard calisthenics at the slimming centers trimmed her into dimensions whichshe has been able to maintain till now. When Arshad joined the Canadian Air Forcethe family had a roving style of living. For the next two decades they traveled alongthe length and breadth of the mighty Canada. Arshad had regular postings andtransfers every 2-3 years. During the long voyage Hassan and Aisha arrived for theirperpetual delight. It was in the early new millennium that the family opted to settlein Ottawa.

It was in Ottawa that the gems hidden in Kausar’s persona began to surface and shine. She has been an exceptional public relation person. Nurturing relations with all agesirrespective of cast, creed, colour or culture very spontaneously was her very specialquality.

The personality of Kausar became known to the batch of ‘79 in 2004 and 2009gatherings of the class in Karachi. There was hardly anybody who was notimpressed by her cultivated and polished demeanor. Many people thought her to beone of the pretty classmates whom they have failed to recognize. She has beenfrequently receiving the classmates in her Ottawa mansion for all sorts ofgastronomic and social hospitalities.

Kausar is an exemplary house keeper. She has a very special aptitude for interiordecoration. She hates tedium and brings about changes in the décor regularly.Organizing religious, cultural and social get- togethers in her manor house is one ofthe passions for Kausar, for every invitee feels to be a very special guest of honour.

Kausar loves traveling and is extraordinarily alert in the shopping arenas. Shebelieves that the money in hand is provided by the Almighty to spend; she asserts thatshe has never been a spendthrift. Like Arshad, enthusiasm, humor and cajole areingrained in her. She is always in the mode to extract every nanosecond of fun andenjoyment from life. Physically she is upbeat and athletic without any reflection ofage and time.

Somebody asked Arshad casually as to what is the main reason for their so flourishingcompanionship? He very spontaneously said “look, the duration of the day is 24hours. Kausar is allowed to do whatever she feels like for 12 hours; I am allowed to dowhatever she likes for the next 12 hours”. This fair division has been the key factor forthis three decade old success story.

Isn't it an adult forum, why are children reading it. If children are grown up they should be able to handle it. If there is adult humor, that is what it is...humor. Kids get it, why can't adults? I share the jokes posted on this forum with my family, they are truly my best friends and I love sharing a good laugh with them. What's the harm? They don't think any less of me or my friends on account of a few jokes. They have never been disrespectful to me or to my friends. Although I am always signed in, my family members have never opened my mail. And they get the same privacy from me, I have never opened my wife's email ever, even though I know her passwords. It is just not polite to do something like that. If I choose to share a joke, it is my prerogative. Or they see me chuckling, and have asked me to share the joke with them and I have...no big deal.Bashir

Dear Kausar,I must confess that I do not share my reading of dow79 with Nigar --- although from time to time I may blurt about something. Well that is me and my quirks. You are lucky that Arshad (in the other 12 hours of the day) open his emails for you. As many of us have met each other, the dynamics of this group keep on evolving and re-adjusting. Hopefully this will lead to some more civil postings and reduction in "beyond R rating" posts. In the past I had heard that some children of dow79 also read dow79 mail -- that thought is kind of a dampener. By the way, Arshad clarified that MBBS stands for " Meri Biwi Bachay Sameth“And for those men, who are husbands of dow79'ers -- MBBS stands for "Mera Baba Bachay Sameth“Javaid

Dear extended family,

Thank you Shoaib bhai for the real nice surprise and your kindness to include me in the weekly series.

Additional comments from all the friends are greatly appreciated as well. ( Thank you Salma, Fauzia, Mullick bhai, Shershah , Iqbal Hashmani, Munir, Hasan, Nisar, Bashir, Ifti, Younus, Fauzia, Swaraj, Parveen & Javaid).

Even though I might have been inducted into the class as an honorary member at Silver jubilee in 2004, I knew most of you long before that as Arshad often talked about his college and hostel days nostalgia with great admiration for all of you. I am most impressed by the ongoing cohesiveness amongst the class of 79. Everyone’s love and affection is so sincere and pure that I truly look forward to our yearly get-togethers. Let’s continue the tradition until Salma organizes the 50th Golden jubilee on wheelchairs!

Parveen: I’ll tell you the secrets of shaping men’s behavior in South Africa!Swaraj: We eagerly look forward to your visit in Ottawa. Pls come soon.

May the spirit of friendship and fun live forever.

Hello Shoaib, What a wonderful idea to have spouses join in on this forum, and Kausar is someone who I always assumed was a Dowite anyway . Kausar you have made your mark on dow 79 ka tola and proved to be one of us by you adopting us whole heartedly. It was lovely to meet you in London and you came closer to me at our Turkey get together. I found in you a caring, and honest person who genuinely appreciates and acknowledges little favoursfrom others so graciously (great quality) . From you one gets what they see. I have to say that you are bestowed with both inner and outer charm. Arshad is a lucky man and so are we as your friends. I look forward to our next meeting which I hope happens sooner than expected as UK is so central and easy to get to. You have an open invitation to stay with us ( the whole family).Eid Mubarak to you and all my friends on the forum. Shoaib , just an idea while considering spouses for our forum, I would highly recommend Shagufta Siddiqui to be picked as POW when feasible. A lively and lovely person who blended in so well with the group. My message to Siddiqui , '' bhoolbhi jao aur maan jao , bus ab wapas laut bhi aao ''.Lots of love and Best wishes.Salma

Dear KausarLovely to see you and read about you! Lovely family pics

What a great idea Shoiab! and what a fantastic start!Congratulations Kausar!! For officially joining the ‘Loony group’.Kausar, the way I see you through my eyes is: an affectionate, charming, sophisticated person with contagious smile. Not just a pretty face, you are skilful and talented person when it comes to the opposite sex. On our first night in Antalya, you have left a lasting impression on me; when some of you gals went shopping to nearby Balik town with just one guy tugging along; not only he accompanied the gals, he came back carrying all the bags. How do you manage that? That’s a miraculous act. You have to share this secret with us (and, I mean just the ladies).Your children Aisha and Hassan are credit to both you and Arshad; but turning Arshad into a ‘bunda’, is a pure credit to you (a wonderful husband who follows a 24 hr. clock set by his wife; Gosh! that can be envy of all the wives).Enjoy the week.Love, Hugs & Kisses,Parveen

Dear Shoaib,It is the best Eid Gift For Dow 79 Kauser is not only well like Bhabi but Lady/Mother/wife "woman behind successful King Arshad".Wish the Saeed Family all the happiness in life.Nisar

Dear Shoaibwhat a pleasant surprise. She is always ahead of every one and not surprising her PAW came out on Friday rather than Saturday. Kausar is effervescent, caring and selfless person. When I visited her in Ottawa she made me so comfortable that I forgot that she was not our classmate. One thing I noted in her household is that she is an exemplary wife( unbelievably tender and caring towards her husband) and a very good mother. Besides every thing else she is a fantastic cook.Kausar and Arshad are a perfect couple.enjoyIfti and Huma

Dear Shoaib, Thanks for the new trend, Physician Associate of the Week (PAW).I had heard good things about Kauser Saeed from a number of our classmates who had enjoyed her

legendary hospitality and colorful personality. Her hospitality continues even in her absentia. I got the taste of it when I went to Ottawa earlier this year. Arshad and Aisha made sure that the legend continues.I met her in London, after a brief intro and half an our ride together to Akhlaq Mahal, I realized what a charming

personality she has. During those few moments together she seemed someone I have known all along. Her wit and humor, genuine interest in others, compassion and tolerance all came out giving the richness to her persona. This 'PAW' declaws you in seconds, all you can do is purr around her with affection.Kauser, you have a wonderful week. I totally agree with Shershah's sentiments. Thanks for making all of us your

friend. It is an honor and a privilege for us. Bashir

Kausar congratulations on becoming recognized by the PMDC (Pakistan Medical and Dental Council). It is wonderful to read about you - like others -- I can vouch first hand about your Zinda Dili and your being a great host. You are the passport -- I need to get Nigar to come to dow79 gatherings -- for the obvious question is "aurkon ara raha hai -- Kausar bhi hogi?“I think you have to start a women's wing for -- "The other women of Dow79“Javaid Yousuf
