Simple looking, unpretentious, dressed up with modesty and wearing glasses fittedin a black jumbo-sized frame. He was Tehzeeb, who came to Dow from UrduCollege. He was seen grossly involved in the dissection hall. He studied everythingvery meticulously and his efforts to remember the terminologies of Anatomy invernacular were amazing. Tehzeeb was always grateful to anybody who hasadded something to his knowledge.

His facial expressions always carried an apprehensive look. Yet, he was very jovial toclose friends. Tehzeeb was religious and loved to convince friends about religiousmatters and beliefs. Study of Shariah and Fiqah (Jurisprudence) were his all timefavorites.

Following graduation he did his house job and entered into government service. Hejoined the radiology department of Civil Hospital Karachi. A prolonged stay in thediscipline and training at various centers earned him a fellowship in radiology. Forsome time he practiced in Hyderabad.

He cracked on an opportunity to serve in Saudi Arabia. He is still serving as aconsultant in the Kingdom. Tehzeeb Taqvi is currently working as a ConsultantRadiologist at Alfaraj Poly Clinic in Makkah and happily settled with his family.

Still very polite and shyOnce I visited him with my family in Ramadan, was very warmly welcomed.He lives close to his hospital. We parked the car in his hospital and walked down to his apartment. Dear ShoaibThanks for posting my buddy, Tahzeeb, I used to call Tizzy.During the college time I always enjoyed his company even though he is a Khatmal and I was a kattarJamaati but mutual respect, love and right of independence of thoughts was always there. Sitting in the cafeteria for hours and talking about so many things in life and enjoying each others company. Oh God, what were those days !After graduation we both joined the army and we were posted in the same field ambulance in Karachi along with Arjumand Faisal. We went to numerous field exercises together and shared the same tent and shared lot of naughty but innocent secrets. Then we went to Abbotabad for basic military training and shared the same room there. When we were going for our training we were in the same airconditioned bogey of Tezgam. At HaiderabadTahzeeb's father brought for all of us hot sumptuous lunch which we thoroughly enjoyed. In Abbotabadofficer's mess room he used to use the same Janamaz which I took with me but Tahzeeb used to use his piece of clay when he used to pray. During the training we also had the company of Maqbool(one of our POW), Bashir, Arjumand Faisal and Arshad Qazi, Humayoon, Ghulam Nabi and Shamim(of our senior class). That was fun-filled time. We will never forget the hot samosas, pakodas and tea during the tea break surrounded by beautiful lush green snow-covered valleys of Abbottabad and karahigosht in restaurents of Abottabad, not to mention the pink marble-skinned lollys of Abbotabad.After the basic military training in Abbotabad Tizzy was posted to Kolhoo in Baluchistan but we were always in touch by letters.Last time I met Tahzeeb in Karachi in 1982 when I was going to Saudi Arabia on deputation and he was doing his training in radiology in the civil hospital.Tahzeeb, congratulations on your achievements and I wish you happiness and all the best. I couldn't open the attachment of Tehzeeb introduction. I believe that as far as my memory stays, our class has only one Tehzeeb. In reality he is a polite and somewhat shy gentleman. He loves to remain in his own domain. Wife, a daughter now about to complete her masters from BCCI FAST in Karachi and a son completing his higher secondary education. I am in touch with TehzeebHyderTaqvi who during medical college life used to remain mostly in company of S.ShahidAbidi, Pervez Hyder (Late), SalarA.Khan, and Imtiaz. He is in Makkah for about 10 years working as a busy Radiologist and Sonologist. Few classmates including IdreesAdhi and RafiqueKhananihave visited him while they were in Makkah performing Umrah. Arshad Saeed asked me to collect his introductory data. I contacted Tehzeeb several times with no success.He is a sincere religion follower and frequently visits Haram Shareef. He delightfully welcomes anyone visiting him. I extend my congratulations for being POW.Mullick
