On Sunday evening during First Joy, we were blessed by four incredible testimonies. Donna Burt shared about God’s faithfulness through answered prayer and through his promise to bless those who obediently tithe. Jerry Dowis shared about the spiritual journey that he and Jane have been through since her stroke several years ago. He thanked the church and praised God for the prayers of godly friends. Kim Carey opened her heart and described to us the challenge of leaving family behind in Alabama and coming to serve the Lord at First Lyman. She reminded us that God’s way is always the right way and He’ll take care of all our needs. Finally, Ashley Gosnell spoke concerning their family adoption. She challenged us to consider the fact that God has adopted us into His family. Based upon this truth, we should be mindful of the ministry to orphans through prayer, financial support and adoption. “Father, I praise you for your goodness and mercy. You are so faithful to your promises. You always come through and meet our needs. I thank you for your patience and for answered prayers. I also thank you for these four individuals and their families. What amazing testimonies they have. Thank you, Father, for using them to impact so many others for your Kingdom. We love you…In Jesus’ name, amen.” There are several important things for you to remember. First, this Sunday, Brian Lark will be with us for our Global Missions Sunday. Brian will be sharing with us about his call to plant a church. We will be receiving a special offering Sunday that will go to Global Missions. Second, on Sunday, June 5, we will worship through the Lord’s Supper. Later that afternoon we will gather at Lake Cooley for food, fun and fellowship! Make a note… it’s usually on a Wednesday, but not this year. And finally, be faithful to the 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting. This is a vital part of what God is doing in the life of our church. We need everyone seeking the Lord together. I love you and appreciate you so much. What an incredible church family we have. Please be praying for our deacons as they diligently minister to our church body. Pray also for the many guests that are seeking the Lord’s guidance concerning church membership.
