ABOUT SPARFounded in 1954 by Hans F. Reich along with 100 self-employed retailers in Tyrol, SPAR has expanded to the entire country of Austria and to this day remains a fully privately owned Austrian company. The SPAR corporation operates more than 3,000 stores in Austria and abroad, gen-erates sales totaling €13.18 billion and employs almost 75,000. With 1,650 stores in Austria, SPAR passed the €6 billion threshold in grocery sales for the first time in 2015.

EDITEL and the Association of Aus-trian Electric Utility Providers (EDA), all energy providers in Aus-tria are now connected to the EDI platform eXite®. In practice, this means that all power bills will be sent as ebUtilities-Invoices (which is the XML standard of the Association of Austrian Electric Utility Providers for exchanging invoices) to SPAR via eXite® in a fully automated man-ner. SPAR currently receives con-sumption data from 1,500 SPAR stores that use different energy pro-viders. Thanks to EDI, SPAR is now in a position to digitize received in-voices and to determine energy con-sumption and optimization potential for each and every store. Franz Hölzl, who is in charge of sus-tainability at SPAR, is happy about the result, and said that “Electronic Data Interchange allows us to go be-yond the compliance with the Energy Efficiency Act. It gives us the oppor-tunity to access all consumption data, which offers great potential for addi-tional energy-saving measures.” n

INVOICING TO SMALL CLIENTS WITH PDF e-INVOICE

Businesses that issue a large number of invoices to many

small clients often face an espe-cially high amount of work and effort when it comes to invoic-ing. Electronic invoicing with PDFs can translate into consid-erable savings of time and mon-ey. Milan Peremsky, Solution Delivery Lead at PepsiCo Czech Republic, commented on the re-cent introduction of a PDF in-voicing solution at his company: “We were looking for an elec-tronic invoicing option that re-quired no technical infrastruc-ture on the part of our small trading partners and that would easily adapt to the formal and legal require-ments in different countries. PDF e-Invoice is exactly the solution we need-ed and EDITEL is a highly competent partner for its implementation.”Last year, the Dutch dairy cooperative FrieslandCampina in Hungary also successfully implemented PDF e-Invoice as part of the introduction of its EDITEL order portal. n

EDITEL IS EDI PARTNER OF SODEXO G ERMANY

In collaboration with the ERP software provider delegate, EDITEL will help Sodexo gradually switch its order processes at more than 400 locations to Electronic Data In-

terchange (EDI).The first project phase included the exchange of electronic article master data (PRICAT) including product data relevant for the EU food information regu-lation, orders (OR-DERS) and despatch advices (DESADV) be-tween Sodexo Germa-ny and its suppliers. Phase two will be all about the implementa-tion of an electronic credit memo procedure. Just like in Austria, the data transfer will be done via eXite®. Susanne Sperlich, director of purchasing for D|A|CH at Sodexo, explains her satisfac-tion with the project: “After the highly successful project in Austria we are very pleased to be able to work with EDITEL in Germany as well. We are now in a position of not only optimizing our procurement of goods processes in the long term, but also of har-monizing these processes across countries. We therefore plan to connect our Swiss lo-cations as well.”In addition to ensuring secure and traceable data exchange via eXite®, EDITEL guar-antees that data will be integrated smoothly and in an automated manner into the full service provider’s ERP system. Thanks to EDITEL’s rollout management service that includes customized assistance and support for selected Sodexo suppliers, the time- efficient onboarding of all business partners is guaranteed. n

UNIQA SIMPLIFIES ITS REPORTING PROCESSES

Provided by EDITEL, “GenStat“ is the solution of choice for UNIQA Czech Republic thanks to its perfect compliance with reporting requirements defined by the Czech National Bank (CNB).

Given the ever growing amount of reports that need to be sent to the

Czech National Bank (CNB) and the gradual adaptation of reporting practic-es as part of the introduction of Solven-cy II (EU project for the fundamental reform of insurance supervision law in Europe), UNIQA Insurance needed an optimized application for the banking sector that met all these complex re-porting requirements. Provided by EDITEL, “GenStat“ was exactly the specific solution UNIQA chose to meet the demanding reporting needs of the CNB. This application al-

lows users to swiftly create and send statistical reports from financial insti-tutions to the Czech National Bank and has a structure that aligns with this methodology. Reports are created auto-matically from data files in each insur-er´s internal information system. In addition, GenStat automatically ap-plies new reporting methods defined by the Czech National Bank and monitors deadlines and the status of specific re-ports. n

AN INNOVATIVE SOLUTION FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRYThe IBM Sterling B2B Integrator has proven to be the very best solution for business process inte-gration at Panasonic Automotive Systems Czech.

The subsidiary of Panasonic Automo-tive Industrial Systems Europe locat-

ed in Pardubice in eastern Bohemia em-ploys more than 1,300 people and has received three awards as the best employ-er in the region. When it comes to creating the technical basis for smooth Electronic Data Interchange (EDI in short) with its business partners, this company is also a trailblazer. It is the first Czech automotive company to use the IBM Sterling B2B In-tegrator.Originally, Panasonic Automotive Sys-tems Czech planned to upgrade its exist-ing process integration systems. After an in-depth analysis, this upgrade turned out to be highly complicated and expensive, which prompted Panasonic to choose a new solution altogether, the IBM Sterling B2B Integrator distributed by its EDI ser-vice provider EDITEL. EDITEL experts were also entrusted with the implementa-tion of the project. They made sure that the system migration was efficient and seamless. Jan Molnár, the responsible project manager at EDITEL CZ, com-ments on the successful project: “The IBM Sterling B2B Integrator allows com-panies to securely integrate complex B2B processes involving different business partners. This solution is an especially

good option for the automotive industry and its many B2B integration require-ments for it allows for the easy connection of business partners while ensuring a high level of transparency for procurement processes. Orders, despatch advices, in-voices and many other business docu-ments can be exchanged in a safe and au-tomated manner while keeping all steps traceable. In addition, all documents can be processed in the company’s own ERP system.” n

The EDITEL archiving solution allows I.D.C. Holding, a.s. (IDC) to comply with all legal requirements when digitally archiving its documents, no matter what their origin or format.

The Slovak confectionary producer IDC needed a new solution for

digital archiving, given the large num-ber of legal requirements regarding the archiving of electronic documents as well as the company’s intention of archiving the many different formats it receives from business partners in all countries where IDC is active. Since 2007, IDC has used EDI ser-vices provided by EDITEL and has

now decided to rely on EDITEL’s ex-pertise in the area of digital archiving.Martin Miškolci, EDI Application Manager at IDC, comments on the project: “The biggest challenge about this project was taking into account the large number of different pro-cesses which result from our many different business partners in differ-ent countries. EDITEL helped us a big deal, especially with in-depth

preparation and consistent imple-mentation. “The archiving solution implemented by EDITEL meets all these require-ments and also allows IDC to archive documents in various formats such as PDF, DOCX, XLSX and JPEG in all countries where IDC does business. The additional EDITEL Business Monitoring Service option chosen by IDC provides comprehensive informa-

tion about each specific transaction, from orders and delivery notes all the way to invoices. More tools for adapt-ing and analyzing invoices as well as archiving documents are available to help optimize the whole communica-tion process. n

With the expansion of its EDI portfolio, Herba Chemosan Apotheker-AG has a pioneering role and is now the first pharmaceutical wholesaler in Austria to be able to receive and process standard-ized EDI messages. This was a decisive step towards the implementation of a standardized flow of information between manufacturers and wholesalers.

Disclosure pursuant to Austrian Media Law as amended in March 2009: the purpose of this newsletter is the promotion and support of EDITEL Austria‘s business activities.

In the Austrian healthcare industry, the electronic exchange of orders

(ORDERS) is already widely used. Herba Chemosan, the highly innova-tive pharmaceutical wholesaler, goes even beyond that and has implemented

the exchange of other business docu-ments such as purchase order respons-es (ORDRSP), electronic despatch ad-vices (DESADV) and invoices (INVOIC) with its business partners via the EDI platform eXite®.To reach the goal of generating maxi-mum benefit for all participants in the procurement process now and in the future, thorough preparations were needed, in addition to the concise defi-nition of existing processes and availa-ble master data. Since the GS1 standard is used, all par-ticipating partners can rely on the same interface, which also makes for a mul-tiplier effect on both sides. In view of the ultimate goal of a paperless, er-ror-free and time-efficient merchan-dise cycle, this approach translates into increased efficiency for the entire industry.

After a number of partners such as Ro-che Diagnostics, Pfizer Corporation Austria GmbH, Lundbeck and Gebro were successfully connected, more partners who will make their data available electronically will gradually be added. From day one, EDITEL Austria has assisted Herba Chemosan and its partners in the implementation of new messages. n

“After thorough coordination with Herba Chemosan and with the assistance of our service provider EDITEL, we successfully introduced automated purchase order responses, despatch advices and invoices.“

Ernst Linschinger / ROCHE Diagnostics

“The interaction between all involved parties, e.g. GS1, EDITEL, Pfizer staff and our client Herba Chemosan (pilot project) went very smoothly. Both sides experienced a learning curve and thanks to ongoing coordination and collaboration between competent part-ners, we ultimately successfully imple-mented the project.“

Markus Edelbacher / Head of Logistics, Customer Service & Trade, Pfizer Corporation Austria GmbH

“EDI has the advantage that or-ders that previously required man-ual entry can now been processed directly in SAP. Mistakes related to manual entry are now a thing of the past and orders are available in the system immediately after they have been sent. The costs associated with order entry de-creases by 50%.“

Harald Bichler, Managing Director, Lundbeck Austria GmbH

“Our goal was to create benefits for our clients and for our company with the use of EDI. And we have

reached that goal, for we minimized errors, the supply chain is faster on both sides and we have
