Talk of the TOWNM E RT 3 0 ‘ s A 2 C L was once again a super hit inter table event. This year the rules were modified to allow 2 Sq.Legs play in each team and yes there were a lot of surprises in the quarter and semi finals stages, but the M RT 1 L i o n s h a d their feast finally.

February 2014 MERT30’s A2CLArea 2’s most awaited Cricket Inter Table event, the Area 2 Champions Cricket League was conducted over 3 weekends in February 2014 which witnessed 17 tables battle it out for the coveted trophy. This year was full of surprises- the new twist to the rules with the flexibility of including 2 Sq.Legs at a cost, top contenders for the cup exiting in the initial rounds and teams in their innovative colorful outfits and team names.

While MRT1 Lions deservingly won the coveted trophy, MMRT3 were runners up for their fantastic efforts during the tournament beating the top contenders MART100 and MERT30.

The event saw some serious preparations with teams practicing for over 2 months for this event. Some interesting pre match warm up poses were also captured by the organizers.

Tr.Sarvesh Patel of MSRT39 bagged the award for the best Batsman, Best Bowler award went to Tr.Sriram of MERT30, Tr.Vasudeva Das was awarded the Best Allrounder, Tr.Adithya Srikanth was awarded the Player of the Tournament award and MMRT3 bagged the Fellowship Trophy.

A fantastic tournament organized by MERT30 for A2 with a special mention of 2CL Convenors Tr.Arihant Parakh & Tr.Shreanik Dugar for their meticulous planning and execution. The event has become a benchmark for the inter

table events in Area 2.

February 2014 MART100’s KART100The racing fever was high and all the racers were really high thanks to the event being followed up after a party hosted by Tr.Ram Swarup and AST.Vinay Grandhi. The stage was set for the first Inter Table Karting Event at Kart Attach, ECR with over 120 Tablers and 30 Ladies participating in the event. All MART100 Tabler's were dressed in pitstop crew gear and ladies elegantly dressed in blue and white. Did I forget to mention the grid girls wooing the racers and the audience? Well it was worth a watch as never has A2 witnessed such show of speed - on the track of course - and boy did the girls motivate the drivers.

The display system and the anchoring was spot on - thoroughly professional as there were instant updates on lap timings and lap positions on the screen.

The initial qualifiers were to test and shortlist the top 24 fastest laps following which they raced in the Semis and Finals which was narrowed to 12 and 6 participants respectively.

In the Ladies Category, Mahek (MWRT10) bagged the 1st place, Seema (124) was 2nd and Deepa (MART100) was 3rd.The Tablers category witnessed some action packed competition where Tr.Thomas (MSRT123) was the winner and Tr.Rajiv (MART100) and Tr.Shravan (MART100) were 1st and 2nd runner up respectively. Tr.Vikas Nahar (MWRT10) recorded the fastest lap (19.8sec) and the fellowship trophy went to MWRT10.

MART100’s Karting Challenge This surely is to stay. Karting by RT100 was a great event with some amazing participation. As Chairman Rajiv Shah mentioned in so many of his mails and messages that they left no stone unturned to give a spectacular event to Area 2. As AC Hari Balaji mentioned, BnB of MSRT123 and Karting of MART100 are events to look out for year on year. We participated in good numbers and almost all who raced qualified as well. We had young guns like Sarvan who sizzled in the race circuit. AKD, Thomas and Vikram blazed their way to the quarter finals with their determined driving skills. It was finally Thomas who won the top honours and won the cup for MSRT123. Kudos to him! It was noteworthy to mention the meticulous planning of MART100. They had everything under control and managed the event professionally. They had huge LCD screens displayed at various locations so that people could catch the race from different vantage points. Some of the races were real nail biting. Overall, a great inter-table event where fellowship ruled and races sizzled.

February 2014 MCRT162’s Area 2 IdolThe Area 2 Idol Season 8 was hosted by MCRT162. The event saw a tremendous response with all the singing enthusiasts taking part in the event which was a ticket to the upcoming RTI Idol.

MMRT95 won the fellowship award for their presence and participation. The winners were Dr.Vani of LC4 for Regional Solo, Sofia Khandelwal (MMRT95) for her English Solo, Renu Sara Alexander (MCRT162) for the evergreen Solo c a t e g o r y a n d T w. Nav y a G r a n d h i (MKRT181) for the twinklers category.

Dr.Vani from LC4, Tr.Vijay Prabhat from MCRT94 and Tw.Navya Grandhi from MKRT181 would represent A2 in the upcoming RTI Idol.

MMRT95 - PHRT167MMRT95 & PHRT167 had a joint Business Meet at Hotel Ocean Spray Pondicherry where all the Tablers were over dressed in Lungis and Shirts. This meeting was attended by members of the area board, Tablers of 95 & 167 and guest tablets from 107 & 82. Thanks to Tr.Vishal, the sunshine fund was ever growing during the meeting.

MMRT95 - KVRT227Tr.Rishabh from KVRT 227 Calcutta was in town and was invited for the Business Meet of MMRT95 on the 19th of Feb’14. MMRT95 was quick to respond when they got to know a fellow tabler was in town and invited him for the meeting.

MERT30 organized a couple LAPD session which was conducted by Sq.Leg.Prabhat & Tr.Kaushal on the 21st of Feb’14 at Presidency Club.

5 c o u p l e s & 4 T a b l e r s a c t i v e l y participated in the HR session sharing their experiences in an interactive session.

Essense was – nobody is perfect – but let’s not spend our life looking at the partner’s imperfections; rather relish their qualities and live a life filled with love.

The Couples had a good realization and takeaways – of course each one’s experience is different. Nevertheless, the key learning from the session was LOVE = TIME in relationship.

MCRT162

MCRT162 came up with an interesting proposition for the twinklers of Area 2 . A tie up with iPlay entertainment zone at Phoenix Market City for A2 twinklers to c e l e b r a t e t h e i r b i r t h d a y a t t h e entertainment zone by calling their friends and family to watch movies, snow time, magic house etc.

What better way to celebrate B’days for twinklers at Area 2.

February 2014 MWRT10The MWRT10 Merchants Cup was a huge success where Tenors were able to rope in a whopping 24 sponsors for this event. The event saw golf lovers participate in good numbers and the event was much talked about as expected.

MCRT94SuperChef Chennai 2014, an event by MCRT94 & MCLC38, in aid of charity, was an unforgettable experience for all food enthusiasts in Chennai. Held on Feb 8 & 9, 2014 at The Park, Chennai, this year’s SuperChef brought a heady cocktail of culinary games and challenges, master classes and celebrity judges such as Sanjeev Kapoor, Vicky Ratnani & Sanjay Thumma. Whether you were a force to reckon with in the kitchen or just a lover of all things delicious, whether you work best alone or as a team, anyone could be the next SuperChef!  A whopping 13.5 Lakhs were raised in this annual fund raiser by MCRT94 & MCLC38.

MMRT95MMRT 95 organised the second edition of its annual fund raiser - Top Gun Golf 2014 on Feb 9th at the TNGF Cosmo Golf Cours. The tournament was held in the morning session and like last year, the 2014 edition also saw all available player slots sold out a week before the tournament. It was a complete sell-out. The prize distribution lunch was held at the Radisson Blue on the same afternoon where Area2 and National Board members RTI National President Tr. Harish Shenoy, AVC Sriram, NS Tr. Suman Voora, Area Chairman Tr. Hari Balaji and AST Tr. Vinay Grandhi were present.FU

February 2014 MMRT95Celebrating the 205th Birthday of louis Braille - Braille Script Inventor, MMRT95 donated 250 Braille Scripted Calendars at the National federation of Blind in Pallavaram. Business Kits to 50 individuals were donated where each folder could be used for various purposes like EB card, passport, ATM Card etc and this would help them in turn resell and earn Rs.800. Plastic Cairn wire used in making chairs were provided to the inmates. The finished product is supplied to India Post.

MMRT95 conducted Cataract Operation for “Mentally Challenged” from DAYA SADAN. These were the same people who were identified which conducting eye camp during RTI week. The patients were given Pre-medication for 3 full weeks for them to be fit for operation. After the successful operation they are medically treated for one month along with doctors check up every week. A special mention to Sq.Leg Dr.Rajesh Gupta for conducting this operation.

MMRT95 organized a program to motivate children to DO MORE in their X Standard Exam where 78 students were benefited at Vivekananda School, Mudichur.

MMRT95 planted 61 saplings at a farm as part of the GO-Green initiative.

31 sarees were given to women in YWCA. These women stay there and YWCA keeps them occupied by involving in various kind of small home based work. There are orphanage, old age, destitute and others who are not with their family.PR

February 2014 MSRT123On 11th Feb’14 MSRT123 & MSLC63 donated Rs.7000/- towards sponsoring a child for 2 months. The monies will be used towards feeding the children, giving them shelter and also sending them to school for their education at “Children of the Dump” – and was part of the Ladies Circle International Service Project (ISP).

On 18th Feb’14, MSRT123 & MSLC63 conducted and contributed to the annual sports day at the HOPE FOUNDATION NURSERY & PRIMARY SCHOOL. In addition to the drills, races and other sports events, inter – house competitions like chess, Kho Kho, Kabadi and carom were held the earlier week leading upto the sports day. Prizes were given out for these competitions as well! The Table and the Circle contributed Rs.18000/- for the event.

MSRT159MSRT159 decided to do one of the most noblest project on 26th February. 8 unidentified dead bodies lying unclaimed for more than two months was cremated by our table following all the rituals at S.G.Burial Ground, Mylapore. The total cost of the same was Rs.8000/-.

Twinklers of MSRT159 gave away scholarship for 4 kids, 2 kids at Little Drops Nursery School, for Rs.5000/-, sponsored by Tr.Gitesh Anjali Agarwal, and 2 more scholarship at VES School, Mudichur for Rs.10000/-, sponsored by Tr.Gitesh and Tr.Deepak Baid.

February 2014 MERT30MERT30ers were all set to welcome the Summers with their Aqua Party hosted by Tr.Akshay Seth & Asha Seth on 1st Feb'14 at the Park. The theme was a Mediterrean style, and it was truly apt for the venue. Casual atmosphere, chic ambience, lip-smacking food, and rocking music, stylishly dressed guys and stunning ladies all were the order of the night and the crowd seemed to be having a whale of a time. The pool in the heart of the restaurant tempted one and many to take a dip..but they left it for another day.

It was time for Downing 10 shots for a fellowship on 9th Feb'14. With most of the Crs, on a holiday, the Trs made sure to make the most of the weekend. With around 12heads & 5 guests present at 10DOWNING STREET, for an afternoon lunch, it sure was a spectacle to watch all of them enjoy in their best of spirits. The main idea of the fellowship was to call some of the friends of Trs and to have an interaction with them as guests and also have a good casual get together. It was a coming together of sorts, and 10D was rocking even more better in the noon that it does in night. Laughs, chats, beer, starters were the order of the day and our Trs made sure it was a memorable afternoon brunch for the guests as well.

MERT30 & MMRT95 next got their hands on a game of cricket on a warm Sunday Afternoon, and the first match of Table 30, against Table 95, in the A2CL TOURNAMENT, inter-table cricket event hosted by MERT 30. Quick fellowship planned to cheer for our team. Pizzas, beers and drinks kept the teams and the crowd happy. It sure was a good match with 95 playing a good game, but they were unmatched, and Table 30 won.FE

February 2014 MERT30On 11th Feb'14, the 30ers After a long hiatus got together for a movie fellowship after a lot of duds in the recent past, but this one managed to get a decent good review. With 18 heads, including few guests, the Trs & Crs, checked out the latest release in the BO, HASEE TOH PHASEE, a rom-com. Slow and steady, with it quirky laughs here and there, it was a decent movie to watch for and our people after a long time got together to enjoy it. Hopefully the tablets managed to hasee to phassee the crowd for the next movie fellowship.

On 28th Feb'14, A fun filled fellowship with Twinklers, Circlers, Tablers, HT’s, Spl Invitees and our 30square members was held at McDonald’s Kilpauk. It was back to college days for all the Tablers and Circlers and the kids enjoyed every moment of it. They were indeed LOVING IT.

MSRT39After the humongous success of Grand Fellowships like MR & Mrs 39, Oldies Vs Goldies, BlueeeePinkkk, the Badshah of Fellowship alias MSRT 39 Fellowship Convenor Tr. Vishal Goel brought another innovative Fellowship proposal - “Maine Pyaar Kiya”

The preparation for this event started 2 weeks ahead of Valentine’s Day and Tr. Vishal himself visited every couple’s residence along with a Choreographer who taught the couples a few jigsand Tr.Vishal recorded the same so that the couple could practice the dance on their own.FE

February 2014 MSRT39On 14th Feb, over 50 heads from MSRT 39 came to the venue for Valentine’s Day Celebration. It started with Tr. Vishal Goel setting the context of the movie followed by calling out a couple. Every couple came turn wise and performed 2 mins dance. Immediately after the performance, the lady was surprised to receive a Ring from their loved ones (of Course their husbands ;). Further the couple saw a loving video made by our FC, which had pictures right from their wedding till date. The best part was the ladies expressing love for their husband. This was again pre recorded which came as the biggest surprise to all the tablers. A 3 hrs event brought in immense bonding between the families of MSRT 39 as all of us saw the pictures of our fellow couples right from their wedding, honeymoon ;) till date. What a night at 39.

39’ers also had a theme based dinner meet – Gunda’s Night. The atmosphere created truly brought out the set of Gansgster’s Den. All the ladies and tablers were dressed in form of Gunda’s partied till wee hours.

MMRT95MMRT95 had their first fellowship for February at the Elevate Lounge Bar where 14 heads from the MMRT 95 family partied till the wee hours.

On 1st Feb’14 Tr.Manoj Khatri & Cr.Ridhima hosted their dinner social at ITC Sheraton in a GRAND manner where the   theme for the evening was “Colours Craze - inseparable couples”

IPC Tr.Rahoul Jain & Cr.Suchi Jain threw a Valentine party which was one of the wildest parties attended by 95ers.FE

February 2014 MART100MART100 partied at Park Hyatt on the 10th of Feb’14 and the short were obviously non-stop. This great party was followed by KART100 Fellowship at The Square where they discussed about the upcoming KART100 - Inter Table Event.

MSRT123Bachelor boy Tr.Bhushan was getting married in a week and his brother decided to throw a bachelors party to have the last bit of fun before Chetna took over. Tr.Abishek was no less to the task and came equipped with all sorts of fun toys. which cannot be described. The room was left messy after the 123 Boys left the Bachelor Boy to catch some breath and peace before his D-Day.

Finally Tr.Bhushan was getting married. For some funny reason (maybe he got a discount) he decided to have the reception first and then the wedding the next day. Maybe he wanted one more day to see if he changes his mind.Tr.Abishek was looking so dashing in his “saffa” that many thought he was the “dulha” and started garlanding him.

The reception was a busy affair with lots of people attending the function. You could tell from Bhushan and Chetna’s face as they were forcing a smile on stage.123ers had a gala time though enjoying the delicious treats that were on offer.

The next day was the wedding day which turned out to be a quiet affair considering t h e ch a o s t h e p r e v i o u s e ve n i n g . Tr.Bhushan had no escape as all doors were guarded and finally tied the knot to Cr.Chetna. God bless the lovely couple. FE

Our chairman left no string unturned as he checked out dishes in every counter. His final verdict was that the jalebis were the best.

Vishal had organised food from Cream Centre and our hungry lot cleaned up the whole thing much before midnight. We all wound up at about 2 AM leaving poor Bhushan with a REAL MESSY room. Wonder what the management of Leela would be thinking when they would send their staff to clean up the room the next day.

Bhushan’s  Wedding  @  Deccan  Plaza After  the  previous  day’s  chaos,  the  wedding  turned  out  to  be  a  nice  and  quiet  affair.    We  were  there  to  witness  that  Bhushan  completes  the  “pheras”  and  ties  the  knot. He tried his level best to escape, but all exits were sealed. As usual, after the customary  hello’s  and  hi’s,  we  were  off  to  check  out  what  was  present  at  the  food  counters. Since the wedding was early, we got to sample both breakfast and lunch. It was nice to witness a wedding in our small RT family. God bless Chetna and Bhushan for a lovely and long married life. They truly looked like made for each other.

February 2014 MSRT159AVC Tr.Shriram & Shalini hosted an out station fellowship to Zest Resorts, Pondicherry where the Spice Boys parties for 2 nights. National Vice President Tr.Deepak Menda, Area Chairman Tr.Hari Balaji and National Secretary Tr.Suman Voora also where part of this fellowship bonding.

A Joint Table Dinner Meeting was also h o s t e d b y T r. S h r i r a m w i t h t w o Pondicherry Table PHRT 104 and 167, with their families on Saturday, 26th Feb’14.

MKRT181181ers met at Park Hyatt on the Valentine's day. The eventing started at the restaurant where some amazing music was played. All of a sudden the same restaurant turned into a proper dance floor with rocking music. The floor was on fire and 181ers had a great time dancing to the beats. A great way of being together on Valentine's day.

181's 250th landmark meeting took place in style at the Westin Hotel Velachery, hosted by Tr. Vinay Grandhi and HT Ram. The guests included National Board Members, Area Board Members, A2 Tablers and Area 6 Tablers. 181ers released the 250th meeting pin in the presence of NVP Tr.Deepak Menda, NT Tr.Mukesh Lund, NS Tr.Suman Voora and AC Tr.Hari Balaji. The party began post the meeting and nobody wanted to stop. The Harley Davidson at the entrance was the eye catcher and all the guests got themselves a personal picture on the wonder bike - something to take back after a wild afternoon party.
