Design an Advert for Aquila by Andrew Norriss You are going to design an advert for the book Aquila by Andrew Norriss

As there are so many books to choose from how will you persuade someone to buy Aquila?

Look at some advertisements in magazines or catalogues.

Notice how advertisers try to get your attention and the words that they use to persuade.

1) Plan

List all the information to put in your advert – title, author, price… best best buybuy

How big and what shape will the advert be?

What words or phrases will you use for the most effect?

Why will your readers look at your advert rather than any other?

What size and style of lettering will you use?

Will the advert have pictures or diagrams?

2) Draft Make a rough draft of your advert.

3) Revise Look through your rough draft and make any changes you need.

4) Check Check spelling, punctuation and layout.

5) Design your advert

6) Present Make a presentation and explain your choices. Display your advert on a wall.

7) Discuss Are you pleased with your advert?

Compare with other’s adverts and discuss how well they work.
