Dear Roadrunner Classic participants and fans,

A hearty welcome to each and every one of you!

This weekend has become one of our favorite community events. Come to think of it, NMSD being a close knit community is what makes us unique and non-replicable for our students and their families – during the school day and outside it. The Roadrunner Classic definitely has become not only a regular event but also one that we all look forward to every year since its establishment.

Everyone, have great fun and enjoy everything that this weekend has to offer. I look forward to seeing you all.

In closing, I want to thank Letty Perez, our Athletics Director and the many students and staff who have helped make this event possible.

Happy Holidays to you all too.Best wishes,Dr. Ronald J. SternSuperintendent

Parents, Alumni, Students, Staff & the Community-- Welcome to the 9th Annual Roadrunner Classic!

We continue to have three schools this year-- many thanks to ASDB and CSDB for making the journey here to Santa Fe! I’m feeling sad this year because this will be Dr. Stern’s last Roadrunner Classic as superintendent. I can’t say enough about how much Dr. Stern has been there for the Athletic Department. He has always given tremendous support to our student-athletes and he will be deeply missed.

It’s exciting to have the grand opening of the Kenneth E. Brasel Museum occur during the Roadrunner Classic weekend! For those of you who are curious, the Sports Museum will open sometime during the year of 2015.

I would like to take the time to thank everyone who was involved in preparing for the Roadrunner Classic, from the chairperson (Kim Olivas) to various departments (Maintenance, Food Services) to volunteers. I would also like to thank my committee for all of their hard work. Thanks also go to YOU, the fan, for attending! This Roadrunner Classic would not be successful without fans supporting our student-athletes.

Here’s to a wonderful and successful weekend!

Best wishes,Letty PerezAthletic Director
