Bordeaux Metropole signs MoU with Telangana Govt

• Government of Telangana and Bordeaux

Métropole has signed a Memorandum of

Understanding in Paris, France.

• Through the agreement, the Government

Telangana and Bordeaux Métropole will

work together in order to develop joint

projects in line with the transition to

sustainable cities in the state.

‘Bhasha Sangam Initiative’ for school, ‘Bhasha Sangam Mobile App’ and ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Quiz App’

• The Union Minister of Education and Skill

Development, Dharmendra Pradhan launched the

‘Bhasha Sangam Initiative’ for school, ‘Bhasha Sangam

Mobile App’ and ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) Quiz

App’.

• It was launched on the occasion of ‘Rashtriya Ekta

Diwas’ which is celebrated on October 31 every year to

mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel,

first Deputy Prime Minister of India.

• Bhasha Sangam is the initiative of the Ministry of Education, launched under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

• 100 sentences in 22 scheduled languages are presented in audio and video form with Indian Sign

Language, that will enable school childrens learn other languages in roman script and translations into

Hindi and English.

• It is developed by NCERT (The National Council of Educational Research and Training).

• It is available for school children on DIKSHA (Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing )portal,

ePathshala and 22 special booklets.

• Bhasha Sangam Mobile App is an initiative under DoHE (Department of Higher Education), in

collaboration with MyGov. The App has been developed by a start up Multibhashi.

• Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Quiz App is an initiative by the Ministry of Education, All India Council for

Technical Education (AICTE) and Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell.

• The application has been developed by Nazara Technologies Limited.

SBI Launched 2-Wheeler Scheme under YONO – ‘SBI Easy Ride’

• State Bank of India launched a pre-approved 2-

wheeler loan scheme ‘SBI Easy Ride’ through its

YONO platform.

• The customers could get Easy Ride loans for an

amount up to Rs 3 lakh at an interest rate of 10.5

percent per annum onwards for a maximum tenure

of 4 years.

• The minimum loan amount has been fixed at Rs

20,000.

The Indian Oil Corp will set up India’s first mega-scale Maleic Anhydride Plant at Panipat, Haryana

• The Indian Oil Corp will set up India’s first

mega-scale Maleic Anhydride Plant with an outlay of Rs 3,681 crore to manufacture value-added chemical products at its Panipat refinery and petroleum complex in Haryana.

• The project will be commissioned in 54 months.

• This proposed project will have a capacity of 120,000 tonnes per annum of Maleic Anhydride (MAH) that is used to make speciality products like polyester resins and surface coatings plasticisers, agrochemicals and lubricant additives.

Elon Musk’s Starlink registers India unit as ‘SSCPL’ • Starlink registered its business in India with name

‘SSCPL – Starlink Satellite Communications Private Limited’

to launch telecommunication services’ including satellite

broadband internet services, content storage and

streaming, multimedia communication, among others

focusing on rural development.

• The company aims to have 200,000 Starlink devices

in India by December 2022, 80% of which will be in rural

districts.

• It will provide 100 devices for free to schools in Delhi and nearby rural districts. It will then target 12 rural

districts across India.

• Apart from Starlink, this technology is also provided by Amazon.com’s Kuiper and OneWeb, which is co-

owned by the British government and India’s Bharti Enterprises.

• World Vegan Day is annually observed by vegans

• November 1st also marks the formation of the Vegan Society in the United Kingdom(UK).

Ayurveda Day 2021 – November 2

• Ayurveda Day is observed annually across the globe on Dhanwantri Jayanthi or Dhanteras, the festival of Dhanvantari, the Hindu god of Ayurveda to create awareness about the significance of Ayurveda and to promote Ayurvedic principles of healing in society.
