563-285-8584 This is a great opportunity to serve with your fellow Rotarians. Special Olympics has been
a KEY project of the Rotary Club of North Scott for many years. We support the projects in the fall at bowling skills, winter at basketball skills, and spring at the track and field events. Special Olympic is also a Major part of our Community Needs Outreach with a support of
$3000 given Annually. This is given through the Birdies for Charities event, which increas-es the amount finally given to this, our favorite charity. See page 2 for sign ups to date.
Canadian violinist Naha Greenholtz was born in Kyoto, Japan, where she
began her violin studies at age three. Since her solo debut at 14, concerto appearances
include engagements with the Vancouver, Madison, Quad City, Burnaby, Kelowna, Na-
tional Repertory, and Vancouver Youth symphony orchestras in works ranging from
Bach to Stravinsky.
Ms. Greenholtz has also had an active career as an or-
chestra musician. In addition to her duties as Concertmaster of
both the Madison Symphony Orchestra and the Quad City Sym-
phony Orchestra, performance highlights include guest concert-
master appearances with the Oregon Symphony, Calgary Phil-
harmonic, National Ballet of Canada, Omaha Symphony, and
Memphis Symphony, among many others. She continues to per-
form frequently with the Cleveland Orchestra both at home and
abroad, and has also been a member of the Milwaukee Sympho-
ny Orchestra. Ms. Greenholtz began her career as Associate Con-
certmaster of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra (formerly the
New Orleans Symphony), a position she assumed at age 21.
Ms. Greenholtz has participated in prominent music fest-
vals throughout the US and Europe including Kneisel Hall (Maine), Taos (New Mexico),
Spoleto (Italy), Lucerne (Switzerland), and the New York String Orchestra Seminar at
Carnegie Hall. She was recently named Artistic Director of Davenport, Iowa’s acclaimed
Signature Series, a chamber music festival dedicated to bringing world class perfor-
mances to the Davenport metro area.
In 2010-2011, she was the sole participant in the prestigious Concertmaster
Academy at the Cleveland Institute of Music, a mentoring fellowship with William Preu-
cil. Ms. Greenholtz received her BM from Juilliard, where her primary teachers were Joel
Smirnoff and Donald Weilerstein. Other teachers have included Andrew Dawes and Ju-
dith Ingolfsson. She performs on a 1778 Antonio Gragnani violin ("Ex-Caressa"), and a
Eugene Sartory Bow.

The 4 Way Test
Of the things we THINK SAY or DO
1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIEND-
SHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
