LAST MEETING – May 1, 2015 – Mark Kamps, Voice of Iowa Basketball Mark Kamps has been the voice of “several” University of Iowa sports teams since 1976. It is a part time unpaid job that he really enjoys. Mark lives close to Carver Hawkeye arena and can walk over for a game, if the weather is bad He has done swimming, baseball and women’s basketball also. Vivian Stringer heard his radio talk show and convinced him to begin women’s basketball broadcasting. In 1999 he began doing the men’s team and has done that for 16 years. For two years he did both men’s and women’s. Mark receives a flip card before every game with everyone’s name and number and a quick lesson in pronunciation. Mark also sells Real Estate in the greater Iowa City area. Fifty nine attended on Friday. Leanna Border (Illinois State University), Megan Franklin (Drake University) and Jason Gleason from QC Convention Bureau were present to promote the Mississippi Valley Conference Women’s Basketball tournament which will be at the iWireless Center March 10-13, 2016. Other guests present were Adam Watkins, guest of Donn Wilmott and Nancy Case, guest of Scott Case. Jack Schinckel was the lucky winner of the 50/50 raffle and took home $111. Dr. Brad Burt gave $20 to the education fund for the birth of his second daughter on April 23. Cody Allen was the sergeant and collected $54 in fines with his college basketball stats trivia. Cody missed Ryan Var-ner, as he (Ryan) broke the code of not fining a fellow sergeant, the last time he was sergeant.

The 4 Way Test Of the things we THINK SAY or DO

1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
