• Hydrogen trains are equipped with fuel cells thatproduce electricity through a combination of hydrogenand oxygen.

• In this process, the engine leaves steam and water asthe only emissions.

• Excess energy is stored in ion lithium batteries onboard the train.

• The Coradia iLint trains can run for around 1,000kilometres on a single tank of hydrogen, similar to therange of diesel trains.
