Organization of the network:• a national coordinator• a deputy national coordinator• a coordination group (7 EDCs)

The Italian EDCs organize an annual meeting supported bythe Representation of the European Commission in Italy:the last annual meeting took place on 21-22 June 2007in Palermo

Projects and activities of the Italian EDCs network:

• a national website

• a discussion list

• joint activities and projects between EDCs and withother relays



The national website was created in June 2000 and it hasbeen updated and developed in March 2006

It is edited by a group of 5 EDCs, with the contribution of all Italian centres; the web server is at the Università degli Studi di Sassari

The aim is to give information on EU policies, events, masters, training courses and seminars, publications tocitizens and general public in our national language

The website has a new section for containing documentsabout Italian EDCs activities: meetings, training seminars, projects, newsletters

The website has three new sections that have beenlaunched in the last annual meeting in Palermo. Some of the Italian EDCs have actively cooperated in the project elaborating and updating these new sections:

- e-journal database

- Masters, training courses and seminars on EU law and policies

- EDC archive

Edited by EDC of University of Urbino, EDC of University of Genova, EDC of Province of Trento, EDC of University of Milano, EDC of University of Perugia

Objectives: create a friendly tool to allow everybody a quickly and easy search of EU e-journals browsing by keywords, by Eur-Op classification, by EU Institutions, by ISSN

Target: students, academics but also general public

Result: 239 titles in Italian or English language

Working in progress: update and increase the number of titles

The new section on Training aims at giving information on masters, courses and seminars on European Law and European subjects, organised by the ItalianUniversities and mainly intended for students.The most important information that has been included in the list is the following:

• Name of the city where the masters and courses are organised;• Title of the masters or training courses;• Links to the website of the institution in charge of the organisation (University or other institutions);• Links to the website of the master or training course.

The list is divided in two sections: • MASTERS AND POST-GRADUATE COURSES ON EU POLICIES• TRAINING COURSES, SEMINARS AND MASTERS UNDER THE PROGRAMME “JEAN MONNET”

The selection has been made on the basis of the masters and training coursescurrently scheduled for the Academic Years 2006/2007 and 2007/2008. All the ItalianEDCs are involved in the activity of updating the information regarding the postgraduate programmes of their Universities.

EDCs do not receive any fund from the EuropeanCommission;the staff of most of them consists of only one person

We realized that only working together and sharingexperiences we are able to:

• obtain better results

• realize important projects

• offer better services to a greater number of citizens

• create personalized services on the local level
