  • The quilt is queen size and custom made. One of Kind. It is truly a work of art. The pictures do not do it justice. We are so excited that Patricia Miller has created another one of her masterpiece quilts for us again this year.

  • Michigan born, Sara Gwendolyn Frostic (1906 - 2001), was one of America’s foremost nature inspired artists. One of nine children, Gwen was stricken with polio at an early age. Gwen not only survived, but she overcame the doctor ’s prognosis that she would never walk, talk, or write. As a single woman in her fifties, Gwen moved to the northern woods of Michigan to observe, study, research, and stetch her native woods in all their wondrous detail. Carefully carving the designs of nature into linoleum blocks, Gwen then used 19th century Heidelberg letter presses to bring her images alive on stationery.

Gwen not only became a very successful entrepreneur, but an accomplished artist, poet, educator, and philos-opher. Known for her simple lines and delicate colors, this inspiring artist continued to produce new work well into her nineties. Now her serene, meditative renderings of trees, flowers, and wildlife have been captured in beautiful products. Because education played such an importance in Gwen’s upbringing, Gwen’s final request was to leave 13 million dollars to Western Michigan University for students’ continuing education.

Her legacy continues . . . beyond time.

“My aim is to bring you the wind in the trees or the very first violet of spring, a bit of serenity that exists in this world. I hope after reading or hearing the news at the end of the day you may feel that loveliness is still of this world. Man must live with nature and cannot separate himself from it . . . he is an integral part of the whole.

Inevitably - uncertainty accompanies new ideas - things which cannot be elucidated - yet the quest remains steadfast - through clarity and precision of thought.

The interplay of circumstances with current issues creates further ideas to probe.Habits of thought need not fit into prevailing modes of thinking,

but can be as individual as the thinker leading far beyond.

Knowledge . . . observation . . . understanding and time must be attuned to create a wondrous life.
