Commodore Jim Coyle ReportHappy New Year Perrysburg Boat Family. We are looking forward to a great year in 2021!

In the past year, we have all learned new ways to get things done and making things happen! We are a club filled with resilient, talented, and supportive members. We are blessed! We look forward to seeing everyone again soon, in some form or fashion!

BUILDING UPDATE: We are excited about the progress of our boat club building. We expect to have the construction completed midsummer and ready for our use! Many interior and exterior items need some finishing touches. If you have carpentry skills and tools, we can really use your help and it may speed up the process even further. If you can donate your time and skills, please contact Jerry Abair at 419-708-8717, Dave Dickie at 419-350-3760 or Jim Coyle at 419-466-5536. We cannot thank enough, members who have contributed long hours in various forms to the construction of our club! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Here are the club construction updates and pictures:o The kitchen cabinets have been set in place.o The interior painting is finished.o The exterior shingles have been partially installed.o The steel for the deck is finished.o The hvac system is working and we received our final inspection.o We have permanent interior lighting.

In addition to the club house construction, we are working on plans to add additional dock spaces, if space permits. Despite everything going on, we continue to receive applications from people wanting to be a part of our club. That is exciting stuff!! We have added a lot of new members/ families to our club, so it is priority for us to plan to add new spaces. We are considering all options available to us.

MEMBERSHIP WORK HOURS: We will be raising the required membership work hours from 10 hours per half to 12 hours per half a year. The new annual work hour requirement is therefore raised to 24 hours a year, per membership. The penalty for not fulfilling the required work hours has also been raised to $50 per work hour not worked. There are many ways to fulfill your work hours and share your talents with the club. We would love your help verses the money. Reminder: Do not forget to log your workhours at the club. The book is in the center drawer in the kitchen. Keep in mind that are considering other options for tracking work hours.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP: Pat Slee distributed the annual invoices in early January. You should have all received them by now. If for some reason, you did not receive your invoice, please email Pat at [email protected]. The annual fees are due by February 1, 2021, so please send in your payments to avoid late fees.

Also, you should have all received your membership activity questionnaire. We are using that questionnaire for multiple purposes. First, we want to make sure we have everyone’s correct information: correct names spelling, address, contact numbers and email addresses. Secondly, the questionnaire is used to determine which activities/events you are interested in assisting with.

A paper copy of the questionnaire was sent out with the annual billing from Pat. We also emailed every member a link to a google docs version of the questionnaire. We would like to thank Jeff Novotney for all his time work in getting that new form implemented. Thanks Jeff!! Please make sure you complete the questionnaire in one version or the other. We will continue to look for new ways of streamlining efforts.

MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY: Deb Kervin will be collecting photos so that we can update or add photos to the membership directory. For those not aware, the directory is accessible through the boat club website at perrysburgboatclub.com and on the club runner app. In addition, each member will receive a hard copy of the membership directory, upon completion. This is a great tool for members to familiarize themselves with other members faces and names, especially since you can add the app to your smart phone. If you would like to submit a new or updated photo to be included in the directory, please email it to [email protected] as quickly as possible. If you need login credentials or your password reset for PBC/Club Runner, text, or email Rosa Coyle at 419-367-7564 or [email protected].

CONDOLENCES: It is with heavy heart that we need to share with you that one of our fellow past Commodore’s, Richard Luedtke passed away early January. Dick and Sheri have been member in the club since 1973. You will be missed Dick!

Wishing you all the best in 2021! We cannot wait to see you all this summer, at the club!

Jim Coyle, Commodore & Lady Rosa

Vice Commodore Phil LaCourse ReportGreetings to all of you,

First of all, Cathy and I would like to wish to all of you a Happy New Year. We are all hoping that this New Year will bring some sort of normalcy back into our lives. We miss our events here at PBC and seeing all of you. Hopefully by mid-summer we can slowly start back to some of our fun gatherings.

We have been pretty busy with the new club house and have made significant progress toward completion. It is amazing how we seemed to have been at a standstill for such a long period of time and now it all seems to be coming together pretty quickly. It is the same and continuous few members that are making this happen and we owe them immensely. I have mentioned this before but I must say again, the talented people that we have at this club are truly amazing. We couldn’t have accomplished any of this without them. THANK YOU!!! We also can’t forget the people that have donated goods and services to our new club house. Without them our costs and mortgage would be significantly higher and we can’t thank them enough.

We have also been pretty busy with interviews for new candidates that express interest in joining to become members of PBC. The new people that have so far joined will be welcomed additions to PBC and we are excited to have them.

In closing, please keep in your thoughts and prayers some of our members and many others who are suffering from Covid 19. With the recent rolling out of the new vaccines hopefully we will be able to put this nightmare behind us. Please stay safe, wear your face covering, wash your hands often and continue the practice of social distancing.

Best wishes and until next time,

Phil LaCourse, V/C
