As fall arrives and we pull our boats for the winter, we will be turning our focus from the boating events to club-house events. We have a number of upcoming events planned, hoping to see many members com-ing out. I would like to thank everyone who attended the General Meeting. We reviewed a lot of material and received some further input to action. I appreciate your input. I would also like to thank Vice Commodore Keith and Lady Denise on the excellent pig roast event they ran last Saturday. Our next big event is the Chili Cook-off. Hope to see everyone out at this annual affair. As well, the SPBC Ball is just around the corner on November 21st. I would ask that if you are planning to attending, please register with P/C Reg Major early as seating is limited. More to come in the coming weeks. Lastly, it is time to start thinking about next year. I am working on the 2016 board and will be sending out the slate soon. We have a number of open positions that require filling and ask that you consider joining the board in 2016. Thanks all..

What a great turn out for our SPBC Pig Roast at Holiday Harbour. We had 80 people in attendance. Spe-cial thanks to Claudio and Lynn Sandre for providing the roaster, preparing and cooking the pig. It was a tedious task that starting at 5:00am. Thanks to Rick Ingalls for supplying the music, Dan and Judy Crou-teau for their help serving and clean up, Sandy Cascadden for ticket sales and clean up, Helen and Mau-rice Marwood for their help with clean up, my daughter Sam for all her help, Izzie Dulmage for her help with set up and selling 50/50 and those who bought a dish to share. Thank you to everyone that helped to make this event very successful.

There were approximately 40 non-members present that had a great time and I would encourage all our members to approach these non-members and discuss the club and the advantages of being a member. The SPBC Board Members will continue to have events throughout the year.

There are Board positions available for 2016 I encourage you to take an active role in the club.

See you all soon.

Hello all, it seems that another boating season is coming to and end. It has been a great summer, with lots of events, but the year’s not over yet for your club. There are still events scheduled all year, so keep an eye on the Sun Parlour log for times and places. This will be my last year on the bridge, as other commitments have led me in other directions. I would like to thank you, the Sun Parlor boat club, for the privilege of serving on the Bridge. It has been a very enlightening and enjoyable experience. If anyone is considering joining the SPBC bridge, this would be a great time to do so as there have been open posi-tions all year, making it a lot of work for the few officers to handle the load. So, step on up, it will be a lot of fun and very rewarding.

End of season Special Pricing; call for details

The Inter-Lake Yachting Association Bowling Fundraiser is right around the corner. I hear that Vice Com-modore Keith Postma and a few others may be teaming up to enjoy the fun. We hope that you can make it. Thanks go out to Sun Parlour Boat Club's Past Commodores for sponsoring a bowling lane. MUCH APPRECIATED. There is still time to get your form in if you would like to see your name up on a lane. Please refer to the attachments if you would like to bowl or sponsor a lane.

Chris Amlin will be accepting the role of 2016 Commodore of I-LYA at the Fall Meeting at the Holiday Inn French Quarter in Perrysburg, Ohio. He is the first Canadian from a Canadian boating club that works in Canada and lives in Canada ! ! ! The Banquet is on Saturday, December 5, 2015. Please plan to attend.

And please don't forget that there are 2016 Power Boat t-shirts which are being sold as part of the fund-raising required for next year. The cost is $12 U.S. each or 2 for $20 U.S. The equivalent in Canadian cash will also be accepted.

The Chili Cook-off is scheduled for Friday, October 16, starting at 6 p.m. See the attached flyer. We would like to see a huge turnout for this event as it helps to support a family in need at Christmas time.

Please don't forget to bring a "can for Fr. Stan" !

Reg Major

Hello all,

The Commodores Ball is coming soon, November 21st. Due to the costs of holding our traditional Ball, we've had to get creative and change up the past practices. I recognized last year that we couldn't contin-ue with business as usual and Commodore Doug & Lady Louise understand this.

Therefore the 2015 Commodores Ball will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Amherstburg. It's im-perative that if you wish to attend that you register yesterday. The Ball belongs to our Members and we want to assure that all who want to attend can. However, after the invites go out to our AYC Clubs, it's first come first serve so PLEASE register immediately!

There will be further info regarding glow rooms, menus and assistance requirements but for now, let's take care of registering!

Thanks!

Summer is just a memory, but the Fall, so far, has been pretty nice.

We still have more events coming up, including the Chili Cook Off on October 16th. Bring a dish to taste or just bring your taste buds. If you have any Sun Parlour Dollars left, use them at this event, they expire at the end of the year.

Congratulations to Rear Commodore Neil and Lady Pat on their recent “I do's”. You both have amazing families.

Stay safe and if you venture out on your boat, remember duck hunting season is upon us.
