    What is Biotechnology?

    Defined as the art of utilizing living

    organisms and their products for the

    production of food, drink, medicine or for

    other benefits to the human race, or other

    animal species. Lingkupnya dalam bidang lingkungan

    diutamakan untuk mengendalikan kualitas

    lingkungan termasuk penggunaan semua

    jenis biomassa.

    bioindicator, preservation, improve crop yields)

    Bioengineering, rekayasa biologis dalam scope yang luas termasukdalam bidang medis dan pertanian.

    Biological Engineering, hampir sama namun penekanan aplikasinya

    pada tumbuhan dan hewan

    Biochemical Engineering, kepanjangan ilmu chemical engineering

    terhadap sistem yang memanfaatkan katalis biologis untuk

    melakukan transformasi kimia yang dikehendaki

    Biomedical Engineering, walaupun terpisah dengan pengertian

    Biochemical Engineering, namun ada kesamaan dalam

    pemanfaatan reseptor permukaan sel dan kultur sel hewan

    Biomolecular Engineering, penelitian antara biologi dan teknik

    kimia yang difokuskan pada level molekuler.

    Bioprocess Engineering, melibatkan ahli teknik mesin, listrik dan

    industri dalam mengaplikasikan ilmunya utk proses yang

    menggunakan sel hidup atau kompenen sel lainnya.
